I have a Wii already but besides the VC aspect it's library is kinda weak.but on to the main part of my question. What's the best bet 360 or Ps3 for quality games?

Most Def. Xbox 360. It has a full library of games of all kinds. The ps3 barely has games for it so it doesnt even have a chance to have quality games.

One look at any retailer will tell you the obvious truth.

The online for the 360 is just light years ahead of the competition. With the 360 and a gold membership you can down load a bevy of game/arcade classics demos to see if you like both past and present. Buy the 2yr extended warranty from microsoft and enjoy. Pick up the ps3 when it drops to 399 or less.

The titles worth having right now for the PS3 right now are Resistance, Motorstorm, and Virtua Fighter 5. VF 5 is lacking though because it doesn't have online multiplayer. The 360 has Gears of War, Crackdown, Lost Planet, and Dead Rising exclusively. Plus Halo 3 is dropping in September. Less and less titles are going to be platform exclusive as time goes by, but you will definitely get the most bang for your buck from the 360. Also, Geometry Wars, Uno, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night are stellar Live Arcade offerings at a reasonable price to download. As someone who owns all 3 consoles, I would absolutely recommend the 360 hands down over the other two. Let us know what you go with. Good luck!

I would wait until Christmas to make the call. That's what I'm going to do. XBLA is definitely the biggest draw to the 360 for me though...

Id recommend ps3.I dont find xbox as appealing as I used to. It just seems in the long run that ps3 will outdo the xbox 360 in the number of console style games. And the xbox 360 will get overloaded with pc style games.

The only reason I really want to keep my xbox 360 is halo 3 , blue dragon and lost odyssey(2 hironobu sakaguchi rpgs (final fantasy creator)

Get a PS2 if you don't have one.

Seriously though the 360 is the easy choice unless you have an HDTV that can take advantage of the Blu-Ray, though the PS3 backwards compatibility trumps what the 360 is doing with backwards compatibility.

Could up grade your PC. The PC may be the best 'current gen' platform at the moment...

Right now this early the 360 has the most good games, because it has been out for more than a year. In a couple of years though, between the 360 and PS3, the PS3 will most likely have more great games if the 360 continues to sell badly in Japan.

Exactly the same way I feel, except I'm not looking forward to Halo 3.

I'm in the same situation and recommend the 360 as well.

Xbox 360 for sure it is a fantastic gaming system in really every way, except reliability for some people it would seem.

You ask for quality games... I'll tell you this, developers have had an extra year to work on the 360, so the games there tend to be more polished. The Xbox 360 SDK is almost identical to the Xbox SDK and the standard Visual Studio for the PC that developers have used for the last 10 years.

I tend to think that Sony's certification program is a bit more through then microsoft's, but that's open for debate i suppose.

In raw calculation, the Cell processor is more powerful then the Xenon in the 360. The Xenon is easier to program for though, so that may be a moot point.

The RSX (PS3 graphics chip) is about even with the Xenos (360 graphics chip).

So there you have it for quality, i would think you would get higher quality games from the 360. Games with slightly less bugs from the PS3. Graphics quality is sort of a moot point right now.

If you want to know which system has better games, go to the local gamestop and play the demos on each. See what you like.

BTW, you sound much more important when you throw around random code names. It makes it sound as if i actually know what i'm talking about...

Get a PS2 if you don't have one.

In all seriousness, this is actually something to take into consideration. The PS2 library has some great titles and the PS3 will play them. The Xbox has fewer great titles and the 360 may not play them. For me, last gen gaming is just as compelling as current gen, so I would definitely consider which of the old libraries a new console opens up. I have a 360, but I use my original Xbox at least three times as much.

I'd say the best 360 exclusives so far are:
Gears of War
Dead Rising
Cold Planet (I've never played it)
Viva Pinata

I own in addition:
Oblivion
Burnout: Revenge

... and that's it. It seems like I'm missing one. Anyway, there are other games worth playing, but with so many cheap last gen games out there, they're not worth buying (for me).

So, 360 is greater than PS3 if you look at the current state of their current gen libraries. Overall, the PS3 is probably better if you want to take past gens into account. And this coming from a guy going for a complete Xbox collection.

In raw calculation, the Cell processor is more powerful then the Xenon in the 360.Sorry, but that's just not true. Sony's marketing is pretty darn good, though... apparently. I have nothing against the ps3. I'm sure it will be home to a ton of great games over its lifecycle. But right now, and probably throughout 2007 the 360 has a much better lineup - more games, more variety, and overall higher quality. XBLA is really well done, too, and has a lot of excellent stuff.

Well given the fact that PS3 exclusive titles are about as rare as Panzer Dragoon Saga I would go with the 360. The library is better, the online play is better and the fact is that the graphics between the two systems isn't better on one compared to the other, just different.

between the two, i would take the 360, but i would wait for the expected price drop battle that should come before the end of the year.

Right now a 360 beats the ps3 hands down. Now if you asked this question say towards the end of the year or sometime next year, it would probably be alot harder to give an answer.

As of right now ps3 is very lacking in game selection but if they can pull off their "HOME" project and deliver on big games like Lair, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, FFXIII (probably a 2009 release anyway) among others the PS3 will be a force to be reconed with. A price drop is also highly likely on the system itself.

well considering its current sales i would doubt many of the none in house exclusives will stay exclusive and some one above said vf 5 is a ps3 exclusive, well its not, the 360 is getting a less buggy version with online some time in august.

Well VF5 has been known for a long time that's it's not exclusive but that doesn't mean anything really, Sales are slow now but it's because of the price

They need to drop the price ASAP and it will be a totally a different game but I do agree that the 360 beats the PS3 hands down at the moment but it's still way to early to tell what's exactly going to happen overall, I really think people are counting the PS3 out already which they shouldn't be.

Definitely a 360. But wait until the chip re-design.

I haven't heard about the Eliete models having many problems, though. Maybe one or two, but not even close to failure rates of the Premiums and Cores. Fortunately, I'm one of the rare few who bought a 360, shortly after launch, and haven't had a single problem with mine. And it gets serious use...
