OK, here's the thing, I am a SURVIVAL HORROR fanatic, my favorite games are Silent Hill and Resident Evil, no surprise there! I don't have a XBOX 360 or PS3 but have pretty much everything from Gamecube prior (Dreamcast/PS1/PS2/PC etc) so I discovered an import Dreamcast Survival Horror that was never localised (sorry the name escapes me at the moment but it had 2 main characters that wash ashore and find a mansion on an island) I would greatly appreciate any suggestions regarding import Survival Horror for any system that I might consider getting a hold of to get my Survial Horror fix! Thanks in advance........................................... ................

The first that comes to mind is 'Michigan' for PS2, which I want even though I don't like survival horror, just to see if there's any accuracy in regards to my home state.

The Clock Tower series. Heavy on Japanese text though. Not sure if it made it to the states.

Hm, good, keep them coming, come on surely there are more Survival Horror fans who can chime in?

Deep Fear (Japanese SEGA Saturn) immediately pops to mind. It was the classic RE clone, and served as a bit of a RE2 consolation, since RE2 was canned from Saturn's release schedule.

As a game itself, Deep Fear was alright for its time. Nothing special, but you could have just as easily lost yourself in it for a weekend or two. It also came out on PAL, and was the last PAL Saturn release.

JP version is, oddly, dubbed over in english.

Clock tower did make it to the US. Clock Tower on the original playstation is actually Clock Tower 2, but the first one to make it to the US. Sort of a Final Fantasy naming thing going on here.

Clock Tower 3 was slated to be localized on PS2 but I'm not sure if it ever made it here.

Have you played D and D2? I believe D was on Saturn and D2 was on Dreamcast. I've never played them, but I hear great things.

Chaos Break (PS1) - Jap/PAL only.
Dark Messiah/Hell Night (PS1) - Jap/PAL only.
Dark Tales From The Lost Soul (PS1) - Jap only.
Ghost Vibration (PS2) - Jap only (Euro release cancelled)
Hungry Ghosts (PS2) - Jap only
Koukai Sarena Katta Shuki: The Note (PS1) - Jap/PAL only (PAL title is just "The Note")
Kyoufu Shimbun Heiseiban Kaiki! Shinrei File (PS2) - Jap only.
Michigan (PS2) - Jap/PAL only.
Nanatsu no Hikan: Senritsu no Bishou (Dreamcast) - Jap only.

I think that's about it for Survival Horror that didn't get a US release.
Good luck tracking some of these down - it should prove quite a task.

Argh, beat me to it. Very creepy game, the story alone left me lying awake at night the first time I played it.

Then again, I was only 12 or so when I downloaded it...

There is also Enigma(JP Psone) but it isn't very good.

And Clock Tower 3 did see a Us release. The only one to never make it here was the original(SFC and Psone).

No, the original one made it to the US, it went under some odd name. I know there was clock Tower 1 and 2 on the psOne, but they were different than the original one. I think the SFC one went under the subtitle "The First Fear"

The original (The First Fear) never made it to the Us. I know this for a fact. There is a fan translated ROM floating around, but the game never saw retail release in the Us on either Psone or SNES under any title.

I use Chris's Survival Horror site to keep tabs on the genre. You might find it as useful as I do.

No one has mentioned:

Simple 2000 Series Vol. 113: The Tairyou Jigoku

on Japanese PS2.

neither the original clock tower nor the wonderswan remake made it stateside. you can tell that the ps one clock tower is a sequel thanks to the BIZARRE beginning that only makes any kind of sense if you played the sfc original or japanese remake.

the koei game is called nanatsu no hikan senritsu no bishou and is a sort of sequel to a saturn game (that you need the saturn keyboard and a working knowledge of japanese in order to play, if i'm not mistaken).

if you have a 3DO, try:
dr. hauzer (it's one of the many influences for resident evil)
moon cradle (more cinematic fmv-type game good luck finding one cheap)
ghost hunter series: black mask of death (a first-person horror rpg that's prety good, but you'll need to know how to read japanese).

i've a ton of horror stuff here, but i'll have to get back to you at some point in the future, as i'm working on a few projects at the moment...

Yeah it is i got it for my famicom a while ago cib.

It is creepy i don't find it realy that scarey either.

I supose if this game had a domestic release for the nes during it's run, then i might have freak out over it compare to now.

Still it's some thing capcom made a game like this.. for the famicom during it's time.
