So many years ago. I have always been an avid gamer. I had it all. Atari 2600, 5200, Colecovision, NES, SMS....the list ends to present day. I have been into video games as long as I can remember being alive.

When I was a kid I used to roll with a group of buddies that had the same thought process that I did. We lived, breathed, ate, swam, gurgled, and choked on video games. Always playing, winning, losing, and comparing our passion.

Those days ended in the early nineties. Some of my friends had moved away, and some had simply moved on. I had also moved on, but I never forgot our good times. The time in my friend's house playing "Astro Warrior" and "Hang On" until the early morning hours. The time my friend introduced me to the wonder of the Commodore 64 and "GI Joe". The all nighter I spent trying to beat "Rygar". The time I spent in the blistering AC cold watching my friend try to beat "Menace".

The list of memories goes on. It was all but gone, but one day, I had these exact thoughts and decided to try and find more people that shared my passion, my history.

The day of the internet had dawned, and I used a simple yet effective tool aptly called a "search".

Now, I didn't find DP immediately. As a matter of fact, the first website I had encountered was entitled "Dave's Video Game Classics", and then soon after, "Zophar's Domain" I spoke with many folks on both, learned about the magic that is emulation, and eventually wanted to collect the actual items I had in my youth. I searched again, and Digital Press came up. One click and I was hooked.

I now had the ability to speak with hundreds of people that had the same video game thoughts that I had! Is this gamers heaven? I spoke with everyone, made trades with hundreds of people, and slowly built my collection. I actually helped start and moderated an "Emulation" forum on DP that I had to unfortunately abandon after some time, but it is yet another fond memory I have regarding the website.

Things are different here now. DP is *huge* compared to the DP I knew back then. But this is a GREAT thing! More people to share their video game thoughts, even if it takes me a bit longer to find my semi-daily post nowdays! ;)

Yep, you know that every time I had to re-install my OS (haven't had the need to do this since my Linux switch however) my very *first* step was making DP my home page in the web browser :) In my honest opinion, there is no better place to talk about such a wide variety of videogaming (basically anything related!) anywhere on the internet. I never take for granted the good thing we have here. Let us all drink to that! :)
