Nothing has been confirmed yet so its still under rumor status.


We've since confirmed that an exclusivity deal between Namco and Microsoft is very close to fruition, likely to be announced at the E3 Media and Business Summit in July.

If it happends its most likely just a timed exclusive too, even the article says so (the headline says exclusive so people might think 100% exclusive, but timed exclusive is still somehow exclusive tho :)).


This doesn't spell the end of the world for the PS3; after all, none of these games will single-handedly turn this generation over to Microsoft, and each is all but certain to make its way to the PS3--eventually

That shouldn't be too surprising, N'Gai Croal (who writes for Newsweek) is one of the bigger video game journalists right now, probably in part to the fact that he writes for a mainsteam publication.

This would no doubt be a timed exclusive, unless Namco wants to sell 3 copies in Japan.

Here's hoping we'll eventually see a Katamari game on the Wii. I won't mind if it isn't this one, if it means that there's something on the way designed specifically for the Wiimote and nunchuck - just as long as it isn't as flawed as Me and My Katamari on the PSP was, of course.

Believe it or not I've never played the Katamari games, and no I don't live under a rock. :) This should be a good way to start the series off, with a nice shiny 360 version.

I can assure you with 100% certainty that I won't. :) I'm hoping for a time-limited exclusive. I'm not ready to buy my 360 yet. So either there is a Wii/PS2 port or I'm stuck like chuck until I'm comfortable with buying a 360. That would make me sad...

Is anyone else afriad of beautiful katamari being vision camera exclusive? I have not read any previews about the game or anything so Im sure the game has already confirmed that there will be no camera support but Imagine how terrible it would be if you could only play the game with the vision camera? the game would probably come bundled with the camera and retail for $60.

If anyone played that totemball game on xbox you know how dreadful the game would control.

In terms of it being exclusive to the xbox it doesnt bother me one bit since I own all 3 systems (although I prefer a 360 release over both a ps3 and wii) but this has me scared for ps3 since it has not only lost an exclusive but it has also lost the game to its platform altogether...

The fact that its XBL Arcade scares me. Making me think its just going to be another rehash of We <3 Katamari like Me & My Katamari was.

Well it appears that GameSpot in the above article has gone and flubbed (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/gamespot-oopsies-about-katamari-on-xbla/) their previous mention of it being on XBL and not as a standard release. I'm really hoping that it gets a true release and not a download as I'd really like to get more than just a few levels (or re-hashes of the same ones over and over like Me & My Katamari got).

I'm definitely happy with Ace Combat and Katamari but we all know what 360 owners are drooling about... Tekken 6.

From what I'm reading; GameSpot made a mistake and Beautiful Katamari will indeed be a full blown retail release.

It does appear that they're not rehashing similiar to Me and My Katamari (which had it's own merits) and going with original content.

I can't find where I saw the original source, but I believe I read that the object count in Beautiful was going to go from 3,000 objects to something like 10,000 objects. That's gotta result in a lot of new rollin'.
