Track & Field Atari/Commodore 64 Question

Question for y'all:

I just came across a loose cart of Track & Field for the Atari 2600. Now I already own a sealed copy of Track & Field for the Commodore 64 which includes the controller. Does anyone know if the controller for the C64 will work on the Atari 2600? I'm guessing the pin configuration will be the same just wanted to make sure before I ponder opening it.

Yes the pin configuration is the same. I had a command control stick which I still have and works great, that I would swap back and forth between the 2600 and the C64.

Yep they are exactly the same controller. Back when the C64 version sealed was running real low price, I'd advise people just looking for the controller to buy that and swap it over into their 2600 version!
