Every once in awhile I post a landmark or something that's historically important at the store. If you're looking for weird NJ customer stuff, today isn't your day. See ya tomorrow, probably :)I spent...

Great stuff hope it's a sign of your success. Most of the independent game stores in my area seem to be barely holding on...

The ebay store is great, but who wants to by gaming periphenalia from someone who actually knows what it is worth...? :)

Weirdguy: Spycee, SlyDC and I (and maybe a few others?) are thinking of going to a NAVA meet sometime this year. Come along with us, that'd be great. We can talk about it next month at our next swapmeet at L'En-jeux.

Saw the new museum and it was very cool. One question on the new membership card though-- is there any way to prevent people from just using a hole-punch at home? I mean, I could get a new card today and then show up tomorrow when a different person is working and have all 10 holes punch. Would I get the free discount, or do you have some way to prevent that?

Also, is there a way to distinquish when the card is punched? For example, if one person comes in for 10 straight days and buys one $1 2600 cart each time, does he get the same number of punches as the collector who spends $500 over his 10 visits? In other words, will each punch on the card correspond for "per use" or for "$X spent" (as in, like 1 punch for every $20 spent)?

I think your discount card method is genius. The customer can really save if they use the card right.

Your unique ideas are the reason you're doing so well. If only the privately-owned stores here did things like that.

See now Joe 'could' add the DP Print-zine as part of what his discount card gets you and it would then be the better version of what the big chain does.

Ideas sound and look great! An idea to help keep things fresh is perhaps change things around, etc perhaps every 6 months (unless something major comes up before you want to promote).

It would be sooo great :) I'm still interested ! Maybe around september or october, it would be perfect. Like you said, we'll talk about that in july.

I think that sniperCCJVQ was also interested last time we spoke about that ...

I don't think the system is as easy to circumvent as all that. I mean, if you do punch all the holes yourself your only screwing yourself in the end. As I understood it, you get benefits per punch not just at the 10th. If I misunderstood, my apologies. Also they do make paper punches that do special shapes like stars, spades even alpha-numeric for such purposes.

Brilliant idea BTW. Show them big guys how to do it man!

Well, right, I figure he has some way to prevent people from abusing the system. I'm sure Joe has enough business sense to realize that hole-punches aren't exactly an R10. Even the shaped hole-punches you mention are like R2 or R3 at best, unless Joe has some rare prototype hole-punch in a never-released shape. So I love the idea of a membership card of course; anything to reward good customers is an awesome idea. But I'm curious to hear from Joe on how this works. Just to know that it's not something that some people will be abusing while all the honest regulars to the shop are working hard to get 10 punches. So where you at Joe?
