I was hoping you guys could help me out with this one. I'm trying to think of any and all movies that deal with video games as a theme -- especially what we would now consider retro games.
Note that I am NOT talking about movies based off of video games, but rather, movies about video games. For example, The Wizard.
I know there have recently been several documentaries about games. They covered stuff like people attempting to break high scores in old arcade games. Unfortunately, I can't recall any of their names.
So, I know there's The Wizard, and a few documentaries. Can you guys think of any others?

The first movie that came to mind for me was Cloak & Dagger. That's about all I could think of offhand. However, a little poking around on Google produced a very handy Wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_video_games

Two recent documentaries (although neither have yet been put into release outside of film festivals as far as I know) are Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade and King of Kong.

eXiztance (I think I butchered the spelling) was about being a part of a game, its hard to explain without getting really deep into the storyline, but it was a really deep thought kind of film.
The Matrix could be kinda skewed to be about videogames since all the people were playing out another life and not their own. The ultimate MMO.

Uh, no, he said he didn't want movies based on games, but movies which feature video games as part of the plot.

I don't remember too clearly, so don't know how prominent games were, but there were scenes when they'd play games in Hackers.

There's a horrible Hong Kong movie called "Shock of the Network" where a series of murders turn out to be kids getting sucked "into" a MMORPG

Ah-ha! These are definitely two that I was thinking of. There may even be a third (maybe about someone trying to break a Missile Command record?)
Anyway, this overall list is looking to be shorter than I was expecting, but maybe that's why I was having a hard time coming with it on my own! Still, this is helpful... I can't wait to watch some of these. :)
