what it was:
Someone with the brand-spankin new eBay user ID "deathofpaypal" had posted their "deathofebay.com" domain name for sale. The starting bid was set at $9,999,999.95 with no reserve. The seller stated that they were allowed to post this auction, and were it to be removed it would be added to their existing lawsuit against eBay.
I found this while browsing for a game console. While I didn't think it would stay up long, I thought it might be an interesting read.
The username account deathtopaypal is still up, as is their other domain name auction. That one is girlsofsturgis.com, with a starting bid of just $4999.95
Hmmm, that could be another point of discussion in the off-topic forum.
I saw this before it was pulled. It offered a free paint job on a vehicle or something off the wall like that if i'm not mistaken.
