I guess a few people on the development team just bought new houses/cars/had kids. You've got bills to pay? Time to tack on another year of job security.

2009? Damn.. when was it suppose to be released? Last i read was that it was comming to like every system, even NES! (kidding hehe ;)) But seriously, i read it was even comming to the DS. Maybe this is why its delayed again, that they need to finish all the console/handheld version before releasing it?

Cool, glad to hear that they're giving Will Wright all of the time he needs. Of course, some lesser-devs are getting it in the ass to compensate, but that's just the way EA rolls.

I bet they want to release it in a double pack with Duke Nukem Forever.

I'll be fine with a 2009 release. I'd expect it to be tweeked to best suite each system and tap into their power. Expect a real show when it comes out. :D

Awesome, except they've only ever confirmed a PC release...

Saying Fiscal Year 2009 means between April 1 2008 and March 31, 2009.
NOTE: Not trying to be critical of your post - looks like Joystiq got it wrong at first and then corrected.

Yeah. I saw that.
Still - that's a damn long way off. And it's already missed 3 launch dates, so far. And every time the game gets mentioned, it just seems the release date keeps getting farther and farther away.

Video games like these if pushed back to the beginning of a year mean it will come out at the end of the year. Which means Spore will be coming to a Vista equipped PC near you in October-November 2009.
