Perhaps a little more detail? As is it's not exactly a story that makes sense?

Maybe we could make it better by adding to it. Each of us do a sentence or two.

Apparently that relative died of SIDS. Which I don't understand, as they must have been an infant with a gamecube.

(I got a PM from the poster when I "made fun")

Come on now, everybody. Responses in the Lore forum are supposed to provide constructive criticism. Granted, hbkprm's entry doesn't give one a lot to work with in a constructive manner but I think the point is made that it's too short. Let's give the wisecracks a rest, yes?

@hbkprm: You could provide a little more detail about the Cube, such as why you had to wait and how you felt when you finally got it after the extra wait time. Try to build it up some more.

The only real criticism I have is that this needs to be about a classic system to make it into the book. I wrote mine on the Dreamcast but that was only because this forum was put up here, I never intended for my Lore story (now on Page 3) to make the book. I just figured putting mine here while this subforum was up would be a better alternative than having it get buried after 24 hours in Classic Gaming. It was a story I always wanted to share.

If he were adding to it, a good place to start would be X-Mas of 2003. Did he ask someone to get it for him? When he didn't get it, how did he feel? What gifts did he get instead? Then he could fill in the blanks from there.

Better yet, it should become a full blown book with a bunch of different stories about how other people got their cube.

I'm not making fun, though, hbkprm's a good cat. I just liked the first post.

That might be too long to fit on the cover. We'll have to abreviate.

Diddy Kong Racing. 'Nuff said.

Anyway, I'll share my Gamecube story as well (I know is had no chance to get in the guide, but I want to share why I hate the Gamecube).

Around the summer of 2001, I was reading about Gamecube at Nintendo's website, thinking it'll be the best thing since sliced butter. Then November came, and no matter how much I complained about how lame the N64 was compared to Gamecube (I was a blind fanboy, and the N64 was automatically lame because it was now old), my parents refused to buy me one. They where considering a PS2 more because it's backward compatible with PSX (Good...but I have an N64, not a PSX), but because of how much my sister & I argued over which is better, so they desided they won't get either one.

I didn't get one for Christmas or even a GBA (At least I got Super Smash Bros. for my N64). I asked every year (Even the year they had the $80 system bundle that had the Zelda compliation).

In 2005, I desided to save up my money and get a Gamecube, and by December, I had won a Gamecube on eBay for only $60. Although I only had Luigi's Mansion, I eventually added on Super Smash Bros. Melee. But things took a turn for the worse...

In January 2006, I bought Super Mario Sunshine, and everything changed. The game was so shitty...so stupid, I was back to the N64 in no time. I held out and tried Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, but it was worse (Piss-poor camera compared to Dreamcast version). I just couldn't find anything I liked for Gamecube other then SSBM and Zelda, because most everything else was better on other systems (Phantasy Star Online, Sonic Adventure, Lego Star Wars, Soul Calibur II, Resedent Evil 4, etc.).

Later that year, I sold the Gamecube to my sister along with all the games & controllers for the same price I paid: $60. The money went towards more PS2 & Dreamcast stuff.

However, I bought a Wii in April 2007, and took back my Wavebird and SSBM, and started to build up the very few GCN games I like (Mainly the Zelda games and PSO). I still stand by the fact the Gamecube had very few games worth playing (N64, Sega CD, Odyssey2, 3D0, and CD-i all had more then GCN)

This story would have been a lot better if he killed a relative for his Gamecube, only to have s/he rise again on Easter Sunday, draped in parchment, to reclaim the lost system. You'd have to find a way to write that without punctuation or grammatical syntax, but I think it could be done.

Like Star Wars Episodes 1, 2 and 3, the sequel to this story would fail to measure up to the original. Here is the scripted sequel.

I skimmed most of that but I noticed the author invoked the name of God quite a few times there. Any time you involve religion with empirical evidence, you lose all credibility.

Earth doesn't have 4 days. A day is defined as the amount of time it takes for a planet to make a complete revolution. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong and should be barred from teaching or working at a university in any capacity that requires research.

Just because the author was literally diagnosed with schizophrenia doesn't mean his ideas are crazy, no matter how much evidence suggests so.

He gave a lecture about the Time Cube theory at Georgia Tech in 2005.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMZdNyRIATo

And a lecture at MIT in 2002 which I can't currently find.

If he was really crazy and his theory was "stupid" like countless people are saying, could he really have been invited to have multiple lectures at such prestigious US schools?
