Does Live-A-Live for SNES stack up well against other Square RPG's?

I first noticed this game back in high school and never really had the desire to play it due to the lack of English. Well, I noticed that there is a language conversion for this game now and it has renewed my interest. Before I start wasting my time playing this apparently long game, does it stack up well against other Square "star" RPG's? It looks like a cool concept, but concepts sometimes don't convert well into an actual game.

Yes, it does stack up. It's a fantastic game. Each chapter has a completely different flavor, and it fits in with other SNES RPGs.

Make apply the text patch by ugetab after you use the aeon genesis patch. It can be a little tricky to apply the text patch though.
