BioWare doing a Sonic RPG on the DS?

If they make it a turn based RPG I'm definately gonna pick it up, though I doubt it will be. Sonic DS RPG could be exactly what sonic needs, a platforming/turnbased rpg or something. Who knows, maybe it will be more fun than Mario RPG.

Hey, Mario and Square made a good mix (an effing awesome mix to be precise) so this Bioware/Sonic abberation might actually turn out to be something good.

Now if it was being done in house we'd have reason to be very scared. But come on: it's Bioware.

If anyone can make it work and make it awesome, it's Bioware. It'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds, but I'd totally be down for a combat system similar to the Infinity/Aurora/Odyssey games.

I hope they totally removed all charcters except for Sonic, Tales, Knuckles, and Robotnik. Even if they have to make new ones just remove amy, cream, charmy, faggot, and giggles because they all suck and i hate them

also i hope it's nothing like the current sonic "story" where they're on earth and sonic is going out with a princess who cant cry or whatever god dammit

when you think of role-playing games did you think of mario before it seven stars came out? would you think of a boy in a red cap? that's what makes them great, they are different. I do agree though that the mario universe lends itself more to rpgs than the sonic one. I'm not sure how it will work, but I have faith that bioware can pull it off.

This is great news, since I definitly would not trust sega alone anymore making a sonic rpg. However this sonic rpg will probably end up playing like an action rpg, since their games like KOTOR, Jade empire, and Baldur's gate all do not include traditional turn based action (although a KOTOResque sonic rpg would be awsome).

However the game will probably be rated E so I doubt we will get any dark storyline out of this game, but one can hope.

So this is out now. Anyone pick it up? IGN gave it a 6.5 and paints it as being a starter rpg without much depth. If that's true it's a shame because that means I'll enjoy it for a couple hours and then it will go back on the shelf for good.

I read some reviews too and I feel nervous about buying it because of that. I have too many games that I start and then put back on the shelf just to go back to something else I was playing before. I saw some screenshots and it looked interesting but I'm thinking about waiting till it goes down in price.

Note that it has mandatory stylus control, and that includes moving around on the map. Yeah, I'm not gonna play this, that's just pointless.

Go out and buy this game, it's freaking amazing. I expected it to be a very good game, but not THIS awesome.

Bioware did a pretty excellent job on this game and not only are you still running around and collecting rings (which you don't have to do all through the game; to buy items) but the story actually makes sense for a Sonic game and best of all, it's a freakin' RPG!

So yes, get it. ASAP. I love it <3
