Uh... you first?

ok then fair enough. i think zelda is basically the same as Adventure only with better envirments, enemies, dungeons, and graphics.

Adventure because blocks rule

ducks rule, so that makes it beyond Zelda, despite the sentient sword in Zelda.

Zelda.....better graphics, better gameplay, better story, better everything for that matter..

Zelda has the newer hardware with more memory, faster processing and the leaps in game design over older Atari games with a higher dimension of playability and layout avilable. Along with that comes nice 8-bit color, everlasting tunes, great gameplay and a simple story where the player choices where to go in the game. However, this also makes the game more complex due to what the creators wanted. :)

Adventure is retro-school with an even simpler idea and just plain easy to pick up and play. The controls are solid and easy to disinguish the enemies. Another plus is that it's cheaper than a Zelda game too.

So, the game that wins is Bank Heist.

Come on, Nero. Obviously Zelda is leagues better than Adventure. That's like saying the Master System version of Sonic is better than Super Mario World.

Zelda, because it took the concept of adventure and greatly expanded on it.

+1

Is this a serious question?

I loved playing Adventure growing up, but c'mon. Zelda blows it out of the water.

Adventure is awesome because you can finish it in like 3 minutes. I dunno... am I truly the only one on the planet who thinks the original Zelda is hugely overrated?

we need to add Golvellius to make it a 2600 / 7800 vs. NES vs. SMS thread

Adventure is a blast, but it's extreamly short. It's storyline beats Zelda's story as well (Bringing a golden chalace back to the golden castle beats the NES cookie-cutter "Rescue (Princess) from (Villain)" storyline).

Zelda, however, was bigger, harder, had more enemies, was awesome, and paved the way for Link's Awakening on the Game Boy. Zelda wins.

What is the DEAL this week with people asking if obviously inferior things are better than popular games/systems?

Adventure's bat shits all over the keeses from Zelda.

Seeing as Adventure takes less than 10 minutes to beat...I think I'll go with Zelda FTW.

Didn't Adventure have at least semi-random dungeons? I remember reading that due to this, there was a possibility of the game being impossible to beat due to keys being put inside the castle they unlocked. Variety FTW!

Okay, I've barely played Adventure, so I'll have to go with Zelda...but really, is it a contest? Zelda is basically an upgraded Adventure in many ways, though I'll admit, Adventure has a certain charm to it still.

That's a bad comparison, actually. I've never played the SMS Sonic (still haven't found a copy, and I'd rather not go eBay), so I can't say how it stacks up against SMW, but I know that many people consider SMB3 better than SMW anyways, which is a better comparison because they are much more similar in gameplay.

That's a bad comparison, actually. It's an allusion to an actual thread topic started a few days ago . . .

Nah, let's add Vigilante instead of Golvellius. You are on a quest to rescue a kidnapped chick, same as Zelda. I owned a 2600 for a long time and played over 100 games but never played Adventure. So I will say Zelda by default but I really enjoyed Haunted House and Venture on the system.

Believe it or not, Adventure for the 2600.

Because of Option #3, in which everything is randomized. And the difficulty switches. It has replay value. Not so Zelda, or Towers for the GBC, for that matter.

CV Alcazar is also better than Zelda for that reason. Not to mention Lord of the Dungeon.

And let us not forget 2600 Haunted House! Dwoo-OOO!

My obvious answer is Zelda. Simply a better game, though the comparison is no where near fair.

Actually, I just recently played Adventure for the first time and thought it was quite charming, and definitely deeper than I was expecting. Still, it's like comparing Pong to Wii Sports, simple technological advances are going to determine the winner.

ok alot of people think this was the dumbest question ever asked . i know zelda wipes the floor with adventure i just wanted to see what the old atari enthusiasts thought because i remembered seeing an article i read awhile back about how adventure is so much better than zelda i just wanted to see if all atari lovers felt that way. (obviusley not!) sorry for my stupid question:angel:

Somebody had to ask the question. Look, these threads may get one or two people riled up but they are fun. Given all the years these forums have been around, we were due for an Adventure VS. Legend of Zelda thread so don't feel bad.

Here are two similar threads that this forum is long overdue for.

LAMER NES NINJA GAME: Wrath of the Black Manta VS. Legend of Kage? (you may run out of room in the subject line)

NES: Metal Gear VS. Bionic Commando

Super Mario World doesn't have the Bridge Zone music.
