Is the NES EarthBound the same as the SNES? I have the SNES version, and the chance to get the NES version, but isn't it one in the same?

Nope. Completely different games. Vaguely related, as well.

Also, I don't know where you are getting the NES version from, but be carefull. There are some indescriminate sellers who take reproductions and try to sell them as ultra rare, recently found protos.

I think one of the real NES ones is still available for sale. But will cost a few thousand. You can pick up a reproduction for $20-25.

I'm still waiting for the Mother 3 translation. That's not done yet, is it?

It's just a NES Earthbound, with fan made cover. Not claiming it's a original and it's not a high price...what is the difference between the NES and SNES version?

Earthbound (SNES) is better than "Eartbound 0" (NES) in every way. The games are very similar, and you can think of Earthbound 0 as a very very bare bones version of Earthbound.

The fact that they're different games?
Honestly, I don't know how much better I can put it. You go to different places, the gameplay is more primitive, the story a bit more serious...
You still go to cities, and deserts, and mountains, and snowy lands, but the games aren't the same.

NES Earthbound is Mother 1, SNES Earthbound is Mother 2. The SNES game is the sequel to the NES game. They're related in much the same way any other series of games is related.

NES Earthbound is also significantly more challenging.

Earthbound Zero is also a hell of a lot cheaper than the SNES Earthbound. It's a good alternative if you don't have $50+ to spend on a game.

Yes, but as noted:
1. It's only available as a rom/repro cart
2. It isn't anywhere near as good as Earthbound on SNES
