well? anyone? the reviews and scores sound pretty good, but the user rating at gamestop, which is usually higher than the critic score, is quite a bit lower at the moment. so, has anyone played this yet, and if so what are your thoughts?

I haven't played it yet, but from what I've read about it, it doesn't really seem like the type of game I'd be interested in. I think I'll wait till I see it used later down the road. If it becomes rare....oh well.

I got the game with the soundtrack and postcard art book. I have yet to play the game though.

Edit: just got in some play time and the game plays very well. Get it before it becomes hard to find

Wow, picked it up and haven't played it yet is a theme, it seems. Add me to the list! I'll toss it in tonight, tho, when I get some time to myself.

I bought it the other day but haven't opened it up yet. Heck, I haven't even opened up my copy of Odin Sphere I picked up over a month ago. I've got a serious backlog accumulating up fast.

I'm in the same boat. My PS2 RPG backlog is starting to reach critical mass.

Honestly, who has time to play through RPGs, With Work/School/Social I barely have to time to buy games, let alone play them.

Amazing how many have bought it ans haven't played it....

We will all need to become addicted to video games to catch up on the RPG backlog. There are still more coming, monthly almost.

I try not to worry about my PS2 RPG backlog. With the very bleak near future for the PS3 we should all have a couple years to catch up until that starts pummeling our satchels with RPG releases.

Now if only I could stop playing my 360...

Ok began playing through it last night.

My very first impression is that it could become overwhelming very quickly. Too-many-units to choose from RTS overload. It's missing a lot of RTS conventions (clicking on the mini-map to move quickly, setting hotkeys for groups of units, being able to control groups of units comprised of more than one unit type at the same time) but it makes a fair stab at replacing some of them.

Story seems interesting so far. Voices range from average to good. Graphics have this unusal "wavy" effect that seems designed to give life to otherwise static drawings, but just comes across as distracting.

The battles are definitely challenging, mostly so far because of the number-of-units cap, and stronger units counting as more than one unit. You might spam elves at first to get mana quickly, but you'll have to send a few off to die if you want to build a real army. A "destroy unit" function would be much appreciated.

Does anybody know if the score you receive has any effect? I've received a range of scores from a couple thousand to 99999999.

You can also set Fairies and other attacking units to attack your elves or demons...etc. Instead of just sending them off to die. I find that to be quicker since they don't have to leave far from home to take them down.

I was rocking on all the story based missions..and then once I hit day 5 I decided to try Trial 01..and proceeded to have my ass handed to me?! I managed to beat it on my first try but it still took me about 45min and I only got like 2000 points or something crappy like that. I actually lost more units than I manage to take out..and that can't help.

I haven't read the manual yet, but is there a way to capture the other player's Runes? I would have loved to have been able to have one rune of each type and churn out all sorts of units, but it looks as if you can only destroy them?
