I work computers at a day camp and they are heavy on censorship as in any games we allow the kids to play cannot be violent as far as shooting or blowing up. I recently networked 7 computers together, but I'm having trouble finding what games are good, not violent, utilize the LAN and can be played on the computers based on specs... That's where I'm asking for your help...

So far these are the games I've come up with:
Midtown Madness 2
MVP Baseball 2005
Tony Hawk series (Only have THPS 3 d/led so far)

The specs on the computers are:
2.4 ghz Celeron? processor
640 MB Ram
32mb Onboard Video

So basically i'm looking for any suggestions you may have...

thanks in advance,
mgriff

Civilation would be one I'd think fit the bill.

May check into some of the game show games as well if strategy games are out of the question though I dont know of any that fit the bill of Lan worthy. At worst, you could play hearts or spades.

RTS games are pretty much out the question because the kids that I am dealing with are ranging in age from 4-12...

You want / need / crave / desire / demand Moonbase Commander (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonbase_Commander). It's a multiplayer turn based strategy game that's easy for anyone to learn how to play. I've always seen it packed towards the kid's software in stores but I wound up giving it a go via GameTap and got hooked very quickly.

For the slightly older kids interested in some run and gun gameplay but with a much friendlier twist, you can look into Nerf Arena Blast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerf_Arena_Blast). I guess it depends on how picky you are about the "no guns" rule or if it's possible to extend it to the "Lego Rule" (no real weapons, no real violence)

Re-Volt (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/re-volt) might be worth looking into for another racing game as is Sonic R (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/sonic-r), which is easy as hell to find on the extreme cheap (you're much more likely to find it bundled with about 20 other Sonic games for a grand total of like $15 than you are to find it on its own).

Moonbase Commander and Revolt are interesting, I'd have to ask my "boss" about Nerf, and for some reason, isn't Sonic R not compatible with XP?

I'd vote for sports or racing games as your best bet. Kid usually like those sorts of things, and they can be constructively competitive.

Worms is probably too violent... but it's WORMS!

If lemmings is too violent, you might as well give up.

How about flight sims and sports games?
