View Full Version : "Relaxing" games in this generation?

It seems like this generation, I'm surrounded by shooters, racers and other really fast-paced games with extremely high levels of competition. Are there any games on the 360 that I can just sit back, relax and play after busting my butt all day at work?

I find lots of RPGs to be relaxing for me. Oblivion mainly because the music and the games atmosphere just kinda puts you somewhere else. The battling isn't too fast paced either so you should be able to just kick back and explore it all. Also try Enchanted Arms. Its a fun game with great visuals. If Rpgs aren't really your thing, I'm not quite sure what else there is for easy-going games except maybe some xbla games.

I mainly play RPGs for this reason because sometimes I just don't feel like playing games that get my blood pumping, cuz then I get pissed when I keep losing.

On what planet is Guitar Hero 2 relaxing? That is some seriously stressed out shit playing it.

hexic is a good (and free) way of lowering the heartbeat a little. As is just about every board game-based game on XBLA.

Exactly, I hesitate to put in something like Gears or Lost Planet because I'm playing them through on harder difficulties now so I'm just going to get pissed off when I lose and playing online is certainly no help in that regard. I swore myself off RPGs in the last generation but maybe I need to pick up a good one for a long-term game that will relax me a bit when I don't feel like a fast-paced action game. I guess I can wait for oblivion to come down in price or just pick it up from someone used. I don't mind thinking a little, I just don't want to have to be killing myself on every section sometimes.

It's a shooter, but Earth Defense Force 2017 is relaxing after a day at the office. It's super challenging on the harder difficulties, but easy on the lower ones, and so is perfect for just blowing shit up. Sometimes that helps after work!

There's always Uno or Hold 'em on the arcade if you just want to chill out with a beer while holding a controller.

Although I'm not a "pro" at the game, I can beat any of the songs on expert without problems. Which is by no means a great feat, but replaying some of my favorite songs on the track list really calms me down.

On Xbox Live Arcade, you'll find the ultra-relaxing, Rez-like Boom Boom Rocket, alongside laid back board games like Catan and Carcassonne. Puzzle games like Bejewelled often offer untimed free play modes that can be relaxing, too.

on what systems are you looking for relaxing games on anyway? I take it 360 is one.

I'll second the suggestion of just about anything on Xbox Live Arcade. Especially the puzzle-type games. Zuma and Jewel Quest are two of the best.
