Right now it's kinda lame because there are so few items up but it does look like it could have some potential www.gameauctionz.com

I tend to be wary of any institution that spells their name with a "Z"...

This topic didn't need to be "bumped" within half an hour. Please don't do that again.

Bump.

Thanks for the link. I needed a good laugh. This is the worst ebay-knockoff site I've seen since Wagglepop.

You know it's good when they place a "Z" at the end of the title.

23 games for sale across all platforms. There's nothing there that makes me want to use that site instead of eBay, so I doubt I'll be visiting it very much. Good luck with it, though.

Yeah, good luck indeed. Honestly, I can't see something like that lasting very long. You really can't compete with eBay (and to a lesser degree, Yahoo! Auctions)...people have tried. Anybody remember eHammer (1998-2001)? It was a "niche" auction site that dealt primarily with antiques. If that couldn't survive, no specialty auction site is going to, unfortunately.

ehh it dont look to bad to me. and i dont see what the fuss is all about, how everyone is dissapointed because there are only 25 items. Obviousely this site is brand new and dont have any exposure. if it gets enough people to start listing in it it could be a nice little private and free game auction site. Heck if a couple of the Big time Game sellers listed half of their stuff at this site, there would be a lot more to look at. ill bookmark it and check back. could possibly have some potential. All depends on who decides to list something really. :-)

A little off topic, but remember the site SwitchPlace.Com? I think that was the name. It had a fairly large user base, and you could trade games or buy/sell. I recall at the time, it was much more widely used for games than ebay, and used Paypal well before ebay did.

Other sites along these lines:
www.nintari.net
www.switchgames.com

Actually Yahoo can't even compete with Ebay. Yahoo Auctions are now closed down permanently. It's hard to fight a monopoly. It'd be nice to see a small specialized site like the OP mentioned flourish but I think it'd take a miracle.

If that's the case then I'll avoid it like the plague.

seems to me that that site would be easy to hack and steal anyone's info. count me out.

Not to mention that 'gamez' (the owner of the site, I presume) is the seller for all 23 auctions. And on top of that, every game has a starting bid one penny below the buy-it-now price and even the starting prices aren't all that hot.

An eBay competitor this ain't, that's for sure! :)

In defense of the site's owner, if it was started by him out of the blue then how many sellers (or items) would you expect there to be this early on? :)
