I finally started playing snes games, super metroid + star wing and they rock! =D But the snes games need to use those L R buttons alot so I need a good gamepad cuz my keyboard cant press more than 2-3 keys without interrupt. This doesnt happen in gamepads right? So should I be getting a snes keypad and modify it for pc or playstation one which is quite similar or some pc gamepad.
This is related to emulation but its not the main point so please dont move.

Emu-wha? lol This is why I lost interest in the emu scene, it just doesn't have the right "feel." IE. try and find a controller that works on an N64 emu that works perfect.
I have seen USB Snes, genesis pad adapters to PC, and these products are getting quite popular with emulation becoming so mainstream..
I would suggest you ask this question in the EMulation forum as this area is for the hard core collector who skoff at playing anything but the real deal. And by real deal I mean mint cart, with the box and dox and that little registration card and Mario Nintendo Power poster blah blah blah

They also make PC gamepads that are exact clones of PSX controllers.

For snes stuff, I swear by the Microsoft Sidewinder. It's a fine controller, with eight buttons, and two shoulders.

I use a USB Gravis Gamepad Pro (knockoff of a PS controller)... works perfectly for most emulators.

Neil's right, the Gravis Gamepad Pro is older and a knockoff of a PSX controller, but with all the buttons you can customize it exactly like a NES, SNES or Geneis controller and use the extra buttons for other options on the emulator itself.

I also use the Gamepad Pro (replaced the old Gamepad that looked like SNES pad but no select/start/L/R button) Works well in nearly all emu's up to and including SNES. I haven't tried it with Bleem (PSX emulator) or any recent consoles.
One caveat: it won't work in DOS based emulator since the gamepad is USB and there's no DOS support.
(Still looking for Atari 5200 emulator that works in Window and works with Pitfall 2 ROM)

I thought that gamepad pro was too cheap for serious gaming but guess ill have to get myself one then. Thanks.
Already found this site http://pages.infinit.net/homer000/gravis.htm
but dunno if it applies to usb or serial.

Real men use keyboards. ;-)
Just kidding. I'll have to pick up one of those gamepads for myself. What do you guys use for Atari emulation?
