I picked this up last night, and the demo did this game justice.... I'm really enjoying the hell out of it.

Probably one of the best arcade style shooters I've played in a long while.

My only complaint would be the lack of multiplayer - Even local.

The branching storyline give the game more replay value.

I was looking at all the pretty pictures and then saw it was Xbox360 exclusive for now. A total let down.

That was my major complaint. There is none. But the price makes up for it.

No local multiplayer, either. But the game is fast, and intense.

I got it a few days ago. Still haven't been able to get to play it (not counting the demo). I got 68 new titles this week across four systems for an insanely low price. I hope to give this game some love over the weekend.

BUMP

Anyone?? This game has quickly darted up to one of my top 5, favorite 360 games.

I've played beaten it once, already. And I'm going back through it again, I enjoyed it that much. It's very rare I replay a game after I beat it.

I'm sure reviews will be so-so because the game lacks multiplayer and it's only about 5 hours long. But overlooking those things, I'd give the game a 9.5. - It is budget priced, after all..

The ending is awesome, BTW.

Everyone keeps saying this game is a "budget price." Please get out of that mindset, 20 is budget, 40 is not!! A nine dollar price reduction is a sale, not a budget price.

Agreed. The fact that next-gen "greatest hits" games are going for $29.99 still annoys me. Under $20 is budget IMO.

To me, any new game priced below $49.99 is budget priced.

$19.99 is what I call "greatest hit" prices.

I was looking forward to this game at first, until I played the demo. It was so confusing...I had no idea where I was flying or what I was supposed to be shooting at. It reminded me of those Raystorm-type shooters from the PS1 era, which I could never get into. I guess I like my SHMUP's 2-D only.

Aren't most new next gen (actually current now) games priced at $59.99? Shouldn't matter anyway; you's a big baller Alucard ;)

Anyone that did pick up the game, 6 extra missions, 6 extra weapons, and leaderboards are free on XBLA.

Sorry to bring up such an old thread.

I finally picked up an xbox 360 so I can play the Project Sylpheed that I bought months ago (I got the french version for $4.98, you can change the language to english and it works like 100% english).

The first level is really fun, but I have no idea how to tell where I am in the 3D space, which carrier ships (the largo cargo sized ships, not the fighters) are which. For instance, in level two I have to protect the flagship - how can I tell which ship this is?

Fun game, albeit confusing.

Sorry to bring up such an old thread.

Never apologize for using the search feature, if anything congratulate yourself for having the sense and foresight to use it.

I still haven't played the copy I bought for $9 at CC a few months ago. I bought Sylpheed and Bullet Witch (also $9) together and played Bullet Witch first, which definitely soured my impressions and hopes for the two budget games I bought.

You never saw a review of the game? Poor fellow...use that search!

Also, Project Sylpheed sounds like a waste of time. "protect the carrier" missions...missions, in an arcade shooter? Hokay. Are we sure this isn't Air Force Delta Storm?

I've always liked this type of game (and that type of mission) ever since the original Tie Fighter on PC.

I don't mind the fact that there's a protect the flagship mission, I'm just confused about the controls and radar/map. I may just have to break down and read the manual ;)

Go through all the in-game tutorials. Twice.

The control scheme is very unforgiving and downright confusing. But the tutorials may help clear things up.

I enjoyed what time I put into the game, but after a few hours, I just wasn't up for a Anime Tie Fighter/Wing Commander game with that much complexity.
