Agreed, nice to see all those Sega titles. Toejam & Earl III (also a Sega title) is now the only non-BC Xbox game on my shelf ... wish it would have been included.

Nice update!

Not sure how good the Blinx series is but I only see the second one on the list.

Also, I didn't see The Chronicles of Riddick.

Great, I was hoping there was gonna announcement about this. Now all they need to fix the hardware problems and then I'll get a 360 in an instant.

EDIT: ROFL, Anybody notice NBA Live 2002? Least they trying to get most games, get some support for TimeSplitters tho damnit.

Yeah, the hardware problems are making me nervous about buying one tomorrow.

The sceond one is terrible compared to the first. There's a tutorial in every level that can't be shut off no matter how many times you play through. It makes the game unbearable.

"Also, I didn't see The Chronicles of Riddick."

From what I understand CoR:EFBB can't be BC because of it's programming.

Which is why they're remaking it for X360 and PS3.

The remake is called "The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Anthena" and it should be out around Xmas. This game has the following:

--A remake of the PC Director's Cut of "Butcher Bay" with improved graphics.
--A new chapter that takes place after "Butcher Bay" called "Assault on Dark Anthena" (hence the title)
--And something that was missing with both the PC and Xbox versions of "Butcher Bay": multiplayer.

Can't wait for this one. It gives me an excuse to revisit the guide I made for "Butcher Bay" over at GameFAQs.....

Anyway to transfer Xbox 1 saves to a Xbox 360?

Nice list, but they're still missing tons of good stuff so I hope they continue. RalliSport Challenge 2, the Brothers in Arms series, Beyond Good & Evil, Capcom Classics Collection 1 & 2, Colin McRae 3 and 2005 (Bet these appear someday unless they stop, 04 was already done), Mega Man Anniversary Collection has issues, Midnight Club 2 and 3, Midtown Madness, Midway Arcade Treasures, Need for Speed Underground, Prince of Persia series, Taito Legends, Tron 2.0, and many more.

I mostly just hope to see RalliSport Challenge 2. Have a few friends that I'd like to race again with this that don't keep their original Xbox's hooked up (I do so I don't really need these updates but I'm still glad they're doing it).

Outrun 2 has moments of frame drop, but I'm surprised it runs as well as it does. It's still entirely playable, and for a game so graphically intense, having only minor framerate problems is awesome.

I don't have 2006 for the XBOX. Love the PS2 port, though. Picked up the PSP port last month on the cheap, and I don't even have a PSP.

I haven't run into problems in THPS2X.

JSRF's only update is the ability to play it from the Sega GT combo disc. 99th Street is still slow as molasses.

The Outlaw Golf 9 More Holes... is the actually second Christmas special disc. The first one doesn't work. I tried it. I didn't even know there was a second special Christmas disc until a couple hours ago.

Does Morrowind run any better on the 360? I somehow doubt it, but it would be nice to play Morrowind at a framerate higher than 40 fps.

I do not think they are remaking the game as thoroughly as they are because it is not backwarrds compatible, but rather to sell more copies and to bolster the possibility of a sequel.

With emulation they should eventually be able to make all games backwards compatible as long as the 360 is powerful enough.

Damn, you're right! I didn't even know there was content to download. This bites. At least the game was 3 bucks.

Also, I heard that MvC2 looks bad because of poor emulation.

I actually always thought the port of MvC2 of XB was the poorest of the three (ps2, dc, xb). The pixels never looked right even on the regular xb. Try the PS2 version upscaled on the PS3....now THAT is how it should be played :D

I don't understand why someone would buy the Xbox versions of those games in the first place. It makes sense if an Xbox was their only console, but otherwise I don't see the logic. Why not just buy the PS2 versions instead? They were always guaranteed to be backwards compatible. It's not like 20 year old arcade games look any better on one console vs. another.

The Xbox versions have Live Scoreboards. That's why I bought 'em instead of the PS2 versions.

Leo_A

Theres quite a few reasons.

First of all, the Midway Arcade Treasures releases had less bugs on the Xbox than the PS2 releases and faster load times. The Xbox saw superior versions of all three.

Midway Arcade Treasures had superior emulation on several games, including Smash TV which has a lot of frame skip on the PS2. The PS2 version has significantly slower loadtimes, with sound glitching during the main menu when loading information.

On Midway Arcade Treasures 2, Hard Drivin' gets faster and smoother in a few cases on the Xbox. On the PS2, the game runs much slower in the Phantom Photon challenge. Pit-Fighter runs at double the speed of the original game on the PS2.

On Midway Arcade Treasures 3, Rush 2049 stays at- 60 fps all the time on the Xbox, even in 4 player split screen. On the PS2 it slows down to 30 in multiplayer modes. It has slower loadtimes and sound glitches as well.

Theres the Xbox Live scoreboards for all three which the PS2 version lacks.

You can save on the hard drive rather than using space on expensive PS2 memory cards.

Some people such as myself prefer the MS controllers over the Dual Shock design.

The only flaws in these games compared to the PS2 versions is MAT3 gets currupt saves sometimes. Otherwise, you get smoother running games, faster load times, more accurate games, etc. Not sure how the PS2 Capcom Classics Collections disc compare to the Xbox ones since I only own the Xbox versions, but I bet the Xbox has faster load times. No one knew when these games came out that the PS3 would play them and the Xbox wouldn't, but at least Xbox owners get superior versions.

Nope. I'm wondering how many Morrowind players are going to want to start from scratch.

The biggest problem with Morrowind on both platforms was the horrible framerate and unstable coding... It froze and crashed a lot. If they fixed that with the emulation, then I'm all over it again. Morrowind is a lot more fun than Oblivion, in my opinion. :)

Also, I had read that the Riddick remake was a PS3 exclusive; was I wrong? (I hope so)

Most compatible games play at full (or better) speed. Morrowind was rather choppy and "chuggy" on the original Xbox, anyway, and I imagine you're seeing the result of the actual game's programming (not the 360's emulator) causing the slowdown.

I should have added more information. I was actually talking about the slowdown in Fable: The Lost Chapters. I haven't gotten Morrowind yet, it should be in my mailbox by Friday.

About Morrowind though, is the slowdown so bad that it makes it less fun to play?

Not in my opinion. The slowdown is there, but it's really not that big of a deal once you're a few hours in. You will stop noticing it after a while. Oblivion for the 360 was the same way.
