I was at a flea market today while I ran accross this game:

It's a copy of Eternal Arcadia for the Dreamcast, oh joy! That was my first thought. It's missing the manual, but I can live with that. I bought it at the low, low price of $3 and we left (after I finally found a model SCPH-1001 Playstation! not related, just happy about it). After we returned to the car, I was inspecting it, when I was looking at the back of the case:

I thought that the Japanese was cool looking and was about to set it down and observe my PS1 when I noticed something:

I figure that "No Resale" is equivalent to the North American "Not For Resale." After searching on Google for a little while, I found out that there are two special editions. I didn't notice any English on the package identifying it as such (minus the aforementioned No Resale).

Here's my question: Does anyone here know much about this particular version, and/or how rare it is/what it's worth? Any and all help is appreciated!

If I remember correctly, the "No Resale" thing was on all the games back in the day when Japan did not allow the trading in or re-sale of games.

So I think what you have here is a regular version of the game without a manual.

Really? I never heard of that before. Eh, its still a cool game. And I still have the SCPH-1001 Playstation I found. I know it's really not that rare, I've just been looking for that particular model. Only other thing I found was one of the gyros that came with R.O.B. the Robot.

P.S. The SCPH-1001 really does live up to it's reputation. Awesome sound quality.

I just double-checked most of my import Dreamcast games and they all have that little logo on them. So yeah, you have a nice, normal Japanese version of Eternal Arcadia.

I can live with this, its still a really good game.

P.S. Sorry about putting it in the wrong forum. I wasn't really sure where it belonged.

Yeah, it's a fantastic game. and you only paid $3 for it, so it's win-win.

I know. All I need to do now is learn to read Japanese.

Loads of games from that time had it. It was some lame move by game companies to prevent people from reselling games. Of course, it had no legal foundation whatsoever, and was laughed at. Not even for a second could you not find such games on the used game shelves.
