best gamegear fighting game?

I'm still an avid fan of the gamegear.

What's your favorite fighting game? Why?

My vote is for Fatal Fury Special because of the great gameplay along with excellent graphics and music. (note: the below image is taken from the review of the game on the DP review site)

I've only played Mortal Kombat and Virtua Fighter Animation, I enjoyed Virtua Fighter a lot more than MK. Graphically and gameplay wise its superior.

Fatal Fury is an amazing accomplishment for the hardware, as is Samurai Shodown. The latter has some very nasty flicker, but it still capture the gameplay flawlessly.

I agree with Fatal Fury Special for me. It showed me that an 8 bit system can pull off a fighting game.

Both of SNK's fighters on GG turned out very well, but I have to throw in my vote for VF Animation.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: the Movie gets my vote. I'm being totally serious when i say that it would very well be the best fighting game the GG has. More than 20 characters, each with 3 special moves and a super-move, and lots of basic and advanced moves, all very easy to pull off. It has great graphics and music too!

It gets no merit because it's a Power Rangers game, but try it and tell me it's not impressive. When a friend bought the game in 1995 I couldn't believe it (A power rangers game? Are you crazy?). I had to swallow my words.

I have not played fatal fury but im planning to! Only game fighting game on the game gear ive played is MK2

I only have Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Virtua Fighter. Out of those I enjoy Moral Kombat 2 because Jax is freaking awesome (and cheesy). :D
