I have hear the stories that Linux® operation system can be install on the PlayStation 3
How?
Where?
(I am try google and I fail :embarrassed: )
((My goal is to run mame on the console so I may enjoy some Armed Police Batrider))

I was reading up on this a little while ago. People seem to be running Ubuntu:

One problem will be with performance -- from what i've read it chugs a bit and is really only good as a media center. I'd bet Mame runs allright, though. I need to get one one of these days and find out!

Yellow Dog Linux 5 on PS3. Download the ISO, burn it, install. It was pretty painless.

YDL is one of the few distros that's dedicated to IBMs power architecture and it's highly optimized for the PS3. The developers even use it to make PS3 super computer clusters.
Gentoo is another good option, but YDL seems to be the best choice.
I was actually thinking of making my next computer a PS3 with a big HDD, but I don't think the PS3 can output at my monitors native resolution, even under linux.
