nice dude. I'm all about rap music too. I actually make my own and use videogame samples in my beats a little bit.

360/wii/PS3/DS/PSP combo is the way to go, cuz then the "console wars" don't effect you in any way. Since you like rap and have the next gen combo, I give it an 8.

---Nice PS2 collection man! Have to get some classic games in there. Based on just Ps2 stuff I give ya a 6.5/10

your collection makes me want to "jump" and maybe put all my game sleeve inserts in backwards? I'm a big hip hop fan as well but not really into the same artist. I'm more of the MF DOOM and Madlib variety.
Game collection gets a 5/10 from me for not having anything pre PS2. You have a good collection of the modern stuff though so you can play it all which is always nice.
I recommend you get a Dreamcast. Since you seem to like modern games the Dreamcast won't seem to old and you'll get a chance to play a bunch of arcade style games. Plus you have to have at least one Sega system in your collection IMO.

Awesome Resident Evil 2 poster.
Can't say I'm impressed by the game collection though. 100% modern and 100% console games. Not very impressive to me.
You don't have a lot of crappy games which is nice considering how many games you have.
BUT you do have a lot of what I see as unnecessary filler that make your collection look more impressive at first glance than it really is.
I counted something like 15 wrestling games for instance.
As purely a modern console video game collection though its pretty nice overall. 5/10

Not bad for a modern collection, but don't be afraid to add at least an NES and SNES to it someday. 6.5/10

I like the clean look of the games on the wall, also owning wii ps3 and 360 is a plus...if I am basing it on next gen alone I would say around a 7/10

Kid Ice summed it up nicely. I didn't notice any imports either. Regardless, (not to sound like that pansy-a$$ Dr. Phil) all that matters is how you feel about it. If you are happy and proud of it, good for you.
You should at least have an NES or something in there for some "retro cred" though. ;)

Depends on your age, honestly.
If you could afford those systems, but have two old school tv sets, then I have to say you can't manage your money very well.
If you bought all of that stuff yourself, and you're a kid, kudos, because I don't know of any person in the 18 to 24 range that would admit to owning "Now" cds.
If you got that stuff from allowance money or as gifts, I'll have to say you should have asked for a HDTV before you got a PS3.
So lets rate it shall we.
Owning modern consoles (+1)
Owning now CDs (-1)
Owning The Godfather Collection on DVD (+1)
Owning White Chicks on DVD (-1)
Owning 2 TV sets (+2)
Owning no older consoles (-4)
Making a thread to show off your stuff (-1)
So you're at a -3, but if you paid for all this stuff yourself, I'll give you +8 for showing the world your collection of "Now That's What I Call Music!" CDs, so you could very well have a 5/10 on this condition!

well, for the generation that you apparently belong to, it's very impressive... so don't sweat all the knockers who knock you for not owning any classics... although I did see some classis NES series games in there... what you have will become classics in their own right soon enough... just like my stuff did...
+1 for PS3 bling
+1 for scoring a Wii
+1 for PC love
-1 for more variety in genres of music
-1 for shit TV's
-1 for shit stereo/video equipment
what... no 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre setup? moot point, if you're still in school, but still... a boom box? that's it? that's the best you can do for some sound?
and why are you so ashamed of your PC? no pics of your PC gaming rig for us?
nevermind on that last note... it's obvious that you have good reason to be ashamed... but keep working at it... I had a shit PC for many years myself...

DVD collection is fairly awful, music diversity is pretty weak.
I like the way the console games are displayed on the wall, though I dislike how the oddball stuff is stacked on top of them. You might want to increase the number of shelving units.
Big props for the Mafia poster. You might want to look into buying some inexpensive frames for the posters to clean up the whole wall. Don't have to buy custom fitted frames or pay to get the posters matted, but I'd recommend measuring 'em out and heading to walmart this weekend.
Props for not shying away from displaying greatest hits games mixed in with the normal stuff.
Do you have any set goals for your collection or are you just snagging stuff that appeals to you as you find it?

I'm not going to dock you points for having *EIGHT* "NOW" CD's in your collection, but you do lose some respect for actually taking the time to take their picture though. :shameful:
However, you do get a -1 for "Kriss Kross".
I like a neat and clean collection...never let your collection look like some cluttered mad scientists lab.
And as for those lamenting your stereo and TV...I say rock what ya got.

Your modern collection looks nice but combined with a lack of anything remotly classic and the over all lack of any particular genre of gaming it looks more like what's thrown against the wall. It's scatered. Still, it's a start and every humble begining has one.
I wont add or subtract any points for music as I'm under the impresion we are rating your gaming collection, not your music tastes which show a defined taste. Dont care for rap personaly, but to each their own and atleast it shows something that you defined.

Give it time.
Right now your collection is mostly nothing more than stuff you can currently walk out and buy at most stores…(save the XBOX and possibly a few titles you have)
For now…you have an expensive collection of stuff but nothing spectacular…4 out of 10.

Hang around here long enough and retrogaming goodness will be literally oozing out of your pours. What you have is nice and certainly respectable for someone your age. 6/10
If you want to add some of the older stuff you best start hunting now... Dreamcast and back is getting harder to come by each day. Just run a weekly tour of your local pawn, resale, thrifts and flea markets. I'll bet most the time your trips will be fairly flat but, the payoff will come and come again if you keep at it. :)

oh and if you want those older systems back, just try the trading forum here, or even ebay, if you can afford all that next gen stuff I gurantee you can get an n64, snes, genesis, and even one or two more systems for under $60. I'm 19 too maybe I should post some updated pics of my collection once I clean it up a bit (its a mess!) I got a nice mix of all generations.

2/10 for the music selection (the rap selection is pretty weak imo but i am a independent fan. mainly a lot of stuff from the def jux and rhymesayers labels). also very your taste a bit.
1/10 the dvds. most of it falls in the thumbs down category for me. again very it up a bit maybe look into some more films that arent slap stick comedy or gorey for the sake of gorey.
4/10 the game collection. its a very nice size for being modern but i'd like to see some more weird shit in the collection to spice it up. Also the lack of any classic stuff kills it. you dont need to go all out but its nice to go back to the classics.
The collection is neat and well organized but i will say that the only downfall is that you should try to expand your tastes, its more rewarding and there really is something for everyone wether its one artist that catches your ear in a genre you dont normally like or a film that moves you or makes you laugh when its normally not your type. its just a matter of trying things out.

Regardless of the quality of your collection, I rate you a zero for having to ask internet strangers for their approval of your stuff. That's a real GameFAQs move.
In fact, I could give you negative points for making this be your first post here.

Classics: -8/10
None, simply sad. I gave a point for having both the Wii and 360, as they can download some of the classics. +5 points if you have some older games downloaded.
Modern: 7/10
You have all the modern systems and, while nothing really outstanding for them (although I don't know what downloaded onto the 360 or Wii), having all of the systems is an accomplishment itself. I would've bumped it up a point if you had Medievil on your PSP or Portrait of Ruin for your DS.
Musical Preference: Another -8/10
You got plus 2 for having a Will Smith CD and a Run DMC CD. You should be proud, I usually give much lower. Sidenote: One chick once called me racist because I said I didn't like rap. So, I just looked at her and went, "Yeah, that's why i hate rap. I hate black people. Of course, that must be it. Nevermind my best friend is black."
Versus my collection:
Eh, I have a small collection, but I lean more towards classics then modern. I enjoy collecting mostly games from the era of my childhood. Then again, I'm only 17 so my childhood was Super Nintendo for 8 years and then a Playstation 2.

haha, that's how I feel as well. I can't stand greatest hits. as soon as I get a GH game that I actually want to play (god of war, ff tactics) I set about trying to get a "real" version asap. unfortunately some of those psx greatest hits titles can be pretty pricey to replace...

Depends on the game. Stuff like Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and Midnight Cub Racing 3 Dub Edition Remix are only available as GH games while games like Twisted Metal Black and Silent Hill 2 have exclusive features in the Greatest Hits versions. Still others (like Jak X) have major bug fixes (Jak X's being that it works on slimline PS2 and doesn't have the "Erase your memory card" glitch).
...not that I actively go out to buy GH games, but if there's a compelling reason to pick one up, I'll snag it. I got lucky on Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition by waiting for the box set to come out. Wound up getting the SE w/o the Greatest Hits labeling. Woot.

agreed on the advice, but I think it's a pretty cool idea... I wish that I was able to display my collection so I could take pics of it for everyone to rate it... but the best that I could do right now would be to simply list all my stuff
and I can just hear all the comments on my collection now:
"awesome retro collection for the eras that you focused on, but you really should get into some more of the modern stuff... start with an XBOX or PS2"
"well at least you have a Jag + Jag CD, and alot of Jag games, but seriously dude, you should have some of the older Atari stuff too... at least a 2600"
"WTF? no Radiant Silvergun? WTF?"
"why don't you have a NES?"
"I just peed in my pants"
"I wish I was rich too"
etc...
really though, I think this kind of feedback is very valuable info for someone who's looking for some direction to continue in, or a way to branch out... how many times have we seen one of those "what system should I get?" threads? people are always looking for advice on what to collect here... and it's not really that out of line at all to ask those sorts of questions, especially if you are a young collector new to the scene, with a very limited budget... think about it, if you didn't grow up with all this stuff, would you know where to start? how would you choose what system to start collecting for first? sure, collect what you like, but what if you don't even know what you like yet? we tend to forget that alot of people are still new to gaming itself too...
we DP folks can be very snobbish at times, even if only unintentionally so, because the majority of us are an older crowd and the Mods enforce the rules of posting here enough to keep all the leetspeak from taking over the boards... but otherwise we really aren't all that different from any other boards... DP is like the online version of Next Gen, and GameFAQs is like the online version of GamePro... I'm not sure who's EGM yet, but AtariAge is pretty obvious... although I'm surprised they've never been sued over their name yet... I guess merging two words together is different with no spacing? anyhow, Destroy All Monsters (http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~bevhome/DAM.htm) gets my vote for being the online Diehard Gamefan equivalent, at least as far as all the groovy screenshots go...
HMM... perhaps I should start a new thread on that and stop derailing this one now... what website is like what classic gaming magazine? look for it!

Well you are get an 'A' for having the bullocks to show off what you are have ^_~
With work and determination you will reach your goals with what ever you do :)
I enjoy rap music but it is more of the late 80's early 90's variety. It is interesting to see several other members here are also enjoy rap music. I don't mention it much because it is fuel for fire when discussing music especially with someone who have different taste or who despise rap which quite a lot of people do (maybe not as much as when I was in high school)
