Ok I finally got around to taking a more indepth look at my collection mainly due to my insurance company wanting to know that I do indeed have what I say I have and not just blank pictures or something :P So what better time to show people :)
A little background first, i'm in Australia so some games never came out here, it's far more expensive compared to other parts of the world, I started truly collection around 1 year ago, Below is what I had before I really started collecting:

Yeah not much, but it was a start ;)
Here is what I have now:

if you want a more indepth look at basicly anything I thought Was interesting.
So what do you guys think?

I think we need to nip this "rate my collection" trend in the bud.

Absolutely 100% agreed. What do people think this is about? I don't get it...it's like a "my dick is the biggest" contest.
I'm with ya Push.

Yeah I sort of realize that now, so I just want to show it now, and not have it rated :)

No no..... I LOVE seeing people's game collections! I really do enjoy each and every one. BUT I'm sure these threads should be consolidated into one area like the "finds" thread or something.

I'd enjoy these more if people actually showed their "rooms of doom", but most usually seem to become box art galleries with 6 or 7 games different games laid out in dozens of pictures.

Well all my stuff lies just in a plain walk in cupboard, the rest of my room is pretty plain and only has a small 15 year old tv and a computer desk :P

IMO These threads are Really Cool. And it doesnt hurt anyone to have to skip a thread like this. If you dont wanna see it just dont open it lol. How hard is that? I think its cool to see everyones collection and hear comments in how they got everything they have. Maybe DP should make a whole set of threads for people who want to show off their collections and be able to get feedback. I do agree though when people show off their collections its cool to see the actual rooms instead of stuff just laid out. Thats kinda boring. Either way Nice looking collection Man :-)

I didn't really mean you -_-Nintendo-_-, was more just a comment in general about many of the collections that are being shared in the Game Rooms section of this site.
I agree with you Parpunk. But it's just if I want to see the cover art for 8 Playstation games, I'd go to a site dedicated for such stuff. Seeing people's setups is great, but when someone posts their room of doom at DP, and its all just subsets of their games laid out on a bed for each individual picture, it seems pointless (I understand showing off bits of your collection that you're proud of, but quite a few entries there are almost universally pictures like this).
Personally, I want to see how you have things laid out to use, not small bits and pieces posed for individual shots. There's plenty of places to find things like the boxart for Chrono Trigger on the SNES and such. Show us your game rooms! :)

Yep i agree exactly Leo! Stuff layed out in piles is soooooooo Lame, just wait until you get something to display them all nicely. Whether you build it or buy something to display them on. I remeber when i had like 700 NES Games and i wanted to post pics of all of them, but i decided to wait, and in the meantime built a huge shelf to display them on, which made it much nicer and more worthy of a gander>>

Took a lot of work but gets the job done :-)

Seeing game rooms is one of the reasons I come to the DP forums, I love seeing everyones stuff. Again, not boxes - I can google image search box art, but I love seeing how everyone organises their games, it's as individual as the collection itself.

I can understand why people want to see games rooms as opposed to collections.... but I think we need to consider that not everyone has (or wants) a dedicated games room, and that people with games rooms will probably fall into one of the categories below:
a) you have a house big enough to dedicate a whole room to games
or
b) you still live with your parents and all your stuff is in one room anyway
I don't fall into either of those categories but I still like to show people my collection. I've worked hard at buildling it up and I'm proud of it, so why not? Space is an issue for me, so there's videogame related stuff stored in various areas of my house and the majority of items aren't on display. If people wanted to see my collection in storage I could take some nice photos of consoles, controllers and games neatly stacked in airtight boxes, but then you'd still only be able to see half of it. And I'd guess that there are quite a few serious collectors who don't have everything on display, for one reason or another. Anyone who has children will understand why displaying a lot of games stuff might not be a great idea for everyone. LOL

I don't mind looking at other peoples "Rooms of Doom", it gives me ideas for a future room of my own. But there is a site/section of the site dedicated to that already.
I'm not trying to pick on you Nintendo, please don't take it as such. I just don't like the thought of having to dodge "look at my room" threads in the forum.
