I just bought a Wii, and I bought Rayman Raving Rabbids with it. I sit approximately 10 feet away from the television. While playing Rayman, it keeps saying to sit closer to the tv, and it seems really sensitive to the distance. I don't seem to have this problem with Wii Sports and Wii Play.
Is this common? Are there any other games that seem to be this sensitive? I mean, 10 feet away seems pretty normal for someone to be sitting from their tv.
I've also done all the adjustments to the sensor, but nothing seems to help. I've heard that the wireless Nyko sensor bar is much better, anyone have any experience with that?
Thanks!!

Ive noticed when playing Red Steel with a friend, his cursor becomes less responsive and jerky then mine. It seems when I am sitting on the left side its alright. Have you moved to different spots?

I believe in Wii manual it states the effect range of the Wii remote to the sensor is between 3 - 8 ft back. Anything beyond these ranges will result in reduced or spastic cursor movement. Too close and the Wii remote can't see the sensor bar at all, too close and it can't tell exactly which light is which and will result in "spastic" cursor movement or flashing/flickering cursor.

Bluenote, before you try another bar make sure you're using new AA batteries. Wonky remote responses are one of the first signs I see right before my batteries flake out.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll try out some new batteries and see if that helps.....

Also, on some games it doesn't use the sensor at all. It's using just the the basic acceleration data in the controller and sending it back via Bluetooth.

I checked the batteries, and they seem fine. Looks like it's because I'm 10 feet away, that's the problem. I'm going to buy the Nyko wireless, and see if that makes a difference. So far I'm only having issues with Raymen. 10 feet away seems pretty average though for the average living room, not sure why Nintendo didn't make the sensor a bit more powerful.

"10 feet away seems pretty average though for the average living room, not sure why Nintendo didn't make the sensor a bit more powerful."
Easy enough to answer. Because I don't think the average Japanese living room has more than about 10ft total from wall to wall....hehe..with furniture and such that becomes much less. For me, regardless of where the Wii sits in my house, it is only about 5ft away from the screen. When my boys play boxing the remotes are a more dangerous 2inches away most of the time..hehe
