I also posted this over at NintendoAge but I figured I would ask here as well.

Like the title says I am looking for the limited numbered NES Sudoku game and I can't make it to CGE so I was wondering if anyone going could pick me up one. I would be willing to pay the person extra for their trouble. If anyone could do this I would really appreciate it.

You know it is listed for sale on the retrousb site. Don't know if it limited number or not, but just wanted to let you know. I bought a copy of it and NWC this morning.

Two things to mention here...

1. I can't believe I missed getting a copy of that NWC repro again. I've been waiting for the new batch to come up, and apparently I missed it. Damn it.

2. There are actually several different versions of Al Bailey's Sudoku game out there. He made 100 of the original numbered batch. 90 were gray and for sale at various events (I'd imagine these are the ones coming to CGE). Another 10 were painted gold, had a different set of puzzles, and given away as prizes. I have one of each. :)

The ones on the RetroUSB site have the blue casing and are listed as "Sudoku 2007". Again, this appears to be another different version. Al is around here a little it seems and more active at NES World, so he'd be the guy to ask, obviously. Anyway, that should clarify a little. And yes, the Sudoku games are still available at the site as of 9 PM EST.

As for your request Kevin, if I was going, I'd help you out, but I'm not. Sorry.

yes the retrousb(purple one) is a different version. Has new puzzles and music, etc. I'm still trying to find out if the grey and gold are different...Jumpman Jr. said the gold one at CGE will be in the auction.

I can say definitely the gray and gold are different. Different title screens, different puzzles. I do not, however, have the purple / blue one.

And yes, as per Jumpman's post, the last gold will be up for auction. I'm interested to see how much it goes for and who buys it, since I won mine in a raffle at the Cleveland show in May for the price of a handful of tickets ($5).

I have the first Gold one officially released it's numbered 003, Al kept the first one and gave the second to the guy that runs the NES site. Al lives 30 minutes from me and we've dealt with each other several times. I actually won this deluxe set at a cgcc.ca videogame show and Al has since told me that they (the original gold ones) are going for very good prices. I've never played the game and in remains in it's tin case in the plastic bag. If you're interested, I'd do a deal for it (forgive me AL).

I dont actually think anyone has sold a gold one to anyone. I've just heard people making unusually high offers to people who do have one.
Let me know if you do sell it, so I can update my list of owners.

So, is RetroUSB the only place to get any version now, other than people who already have it?
