I did a few searches on DP only comming to a few bangtango posts about some rare demo case for the 3DO and lots of unrelated topics. Also looked around the web, nothing good. So..
I'm more interested in why the Twisted box has "DEMO COPY NOT FOR RESALE" on it than what it's worth. Is this a pack-in, game store demo, free handout to 3DO owners or what?
And as a side-note, what's with this Step Aerobics 3DO title? Was it some magazine order or something?

Ha, funny you mention my name. I also have that very same demo (Twisted) for 3DO. It came with that rare demo case I found that had a bunch of loose 3DO discs packaged with write ups. A lot of the discs were marked as demos but not every single one. I ended up selling that binder for around 50-55 bucks shipped, it was actually incomplete because I found an Ebay auction suggesting I was missing 4-5 discs/writeups. There was hardly any info on that stuff when I did a Google search so I sold it on a wing and a prayer. Since the Twisted demo I have is in a longbox (unlike the other discs I sold), I held onto that one.
Here is what I found out:
That rare demo case I found was for use by a 3DO dealer so I'd say that Twisted game is a game store demo, only because I found it with the other demo discs I picked up. All of those, except Twisted, came in that binder I had which was full of papers giving retailers tips on using the discs to help move 3DO systems and it also had a bunch of contact phone numbers for retailers to order 3DO products, etc. So it was definitely dealer stuff and I see no reason that it would have been given to a run-of-the-mill 3DO owner. Why? The papers advised dealers not to give out the contact numbers (to buy 3DO product) to owners. Hope all that rambling makes sense.

Oh, it makes sense just odd that the actual disc doesn't have "DEMO" written on it in addition to no insert talking about contact numbers, just the manual. It's funny because I found it with that Aerobics game and Madden. Any idea as to how many may have been distibuted?

I have the Madden game with the "DEMO COPY NOT FOR RESALE" label on it. Also, the actual disc doesn't have any indication that it is a demo. It just has that label on the front. I did some research on it a few months back and I couldn't find much on it. I thought that the demo copies of Madden were packed in with the 3DO system. I would also like some info on these 3DO games with the "DEMO COPY NOT FOR RESALE" labels. And by the way, did you see this thread?:

A few of my 3DO jewel cases have "Not for Resale" on them, but I think I got them in longbox form with a UPC. I'll edit a list in here in a moment.
edit: seems just my Zhadnost: The People's Party says NOT FOR RESALE on it. Dunno if they were all this way or what, but Zhadnost was the "sequel" to Twisted if that might mean something

Ryaan1234:
Nope, didn't see that thread at all. Most of those appear to be speculation but is there a definite answer? I'm mainly currious because the DP guide doesn't describe it as being a pack-in at some point and I'd hope it'd be added as a minor detail if it was.
Once again though, I'm not expect a "zomigodz da über" or anything just what it's all about.

Anyone ever find out what that was worth? About the same as the regular version? Whatever the case, I'm dumping my copy into a big box of stuff I am selling so if someone wants it, find my sale thread :)

Nope, can't so I did. I'd doubt it's worth all that much however I'm still interested in knowing if there's anything else about it. :)

Dude, I traded you an in box Twisted game for the 3DO that had A demo not for resale sticker on it remember? I had found it at a goodwill in Portland.
