Well, we're already in Vegas and as of this morning, we're still 39 room nights short. So we spent most of the day in meetings with the Riviera in an attempt to entice people to switch over that may be staying at other hotels.

Here's the deal! The Riviera is where the action is!!! You want to be here so that you can be with your friends. Hang out at night. Check out the parties and be able to walk back to your room. Not have to lug all of your stuff around all day, just bring it back to your room. Saddle up next to one of the Alumni in the casino at night. Maybe you'll end up playing blackjack with David Crane.

So, we were able to make arrangements with the hotel to offer people the ability to switch your hotel to the Riviera for free. You can stay at the Riviera for the same price you're paying elsewhere.

A couple of catches, you can't have booked with an online package deal (travelocity, expedia, etc.) and you have to be staying a minimum of 2 nights. Also, no comps at other hotels, you have to be paying the regular rate.

Interested?? We've made it easy. Just call 516-639-9186 before 5pm Pacific time Thurs. and ask for John. We'll handle the arrangements for you and set you up so you'll be in the middle of the action.

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for your support!

John

What if we're at the riviera, but would like to upgrade the room from standard to deluxe?

I mean, I was thinking of doing that anyway since it's a minimal price different friday and saturday, but hell.

I would really like to do that as well because I would like a fridge (and a nicer room).
But I booked online... anything I can do?
I'm actually going to be in Vegas at 10:30 tonight. I'll try asking the people at the front desk when I get my room.

For anyone considering John's offer, let me say that he totally hooked me up, and Icbrkr and I will now be staying at the Riviera with everybody else. All that's left to do is contact the Stratosphere and have them take down the banner announcing my impending arrival.

Wish I could but I booked through hotels.com. They have a 1-night room/tax cancellation fee if canceled before Friday. I didn't see the information about the Riviera counting on a certain number of guests until after I had set my itinerary.

For those of you who have never been to a trade or enthusiast even before let me give you a piece of handy advice,,, stay in the event hotel.

Just about everything is happening at the Riviera. Not just the show, but the parties too.

And for the Retrotopia party, well that leaves from the Riviera and comes back there.

The time wasted getting too and from other hotels to the Riviera more than makes up for any price difference. And you get the gravy this time with the free room upgrade.

I speak from experience having done many trade shows in the USA and abroad in every area of the world except Aftrica.

Additionally, there is no cover at the Retrotopia party if you show them your Riveria room keycard. That's a $10 savings right there.

Also, speaking from experience, Las Vegas on the weekend is VERY BUSY and TRAFFIC IS AWFUL. Even though you may be staying at another hotel & casino 2-3 miles away, it can take you 30 minutes to get to the Riveria by motor vehicle. Trust me, its true. Additionally you'll save on cabfare, and there is no monorail stop there.

Second that. It took my wife and I about a half hour by car to get from where Circus Circus is to Excalibur via the Strip last year on a Saturday.
