I've recently come by a number of laser disc images and roms so I decided that I'd fire up Daphne and play a few rounds of Super Don Quioxte. I've put the framefile in the framefile directory and I've put all the movie and sound images in the appropriate rom directory along with the arcade roms themselves. When I fire up the emulator I'm only getting the rom emulation (the score and insert coin text) and absolutely no sound or video. What am I doing wrong? Do the sound and video clips have to be in certain directories (I have them with the roms right now)?

Are you configuring the game from within "DaphneLoader"? This is the way I do it. You can configure settings for each individual game within the loader. Just highlight the game, click on the configure box, hit the "laserdisc" tab on top, select "Virtual LDP" for the player, and hit browse for the framefile. You must also edit the framefile to point to the directory that the LD mpeg/ogg files are located. The framefile is a text file, so open it that you will see a path on top. For example, with the space ace rip, my framefiles says ".\sadvdrom\" on the top. This is basically telling the framefile that my mpeg files are located in a directory called "sadvdrom". Hope this helps you a bit more.

Well that got SDQ and Thayers Quest working (although the screen seems to blank out for a sec between moves in SDQ), but I can't get Space Ace or Dragons Lair to work at all. I get a blank screen and I can hear the coin sound but that's all.

Well, at least you got two of them working. Not sure what the problem is for Space Ace and Dragon's Lair. Bad rips perhaps? Maybe bad framefile? Who knows. If you followed all the instructions (you obviously did to get the first two working) then they should work as well..unless they're no good.

Tempest, one of the limitations of Daphne and the Framefile is that your directory path cannot have any spaces in it at all, for example:

C:\daphne\dragonslair\mpeg would be fine but:
C:\daphne\dragons lair\mpeg would not

Check your famefile and be sure that the directory path does not containe folder names with spaces.

Second, there are different versions of the DL and SA roms, for example rev. F3 of the DL rom and SA has the stand alone rom or the conversion kit rom I believe.

Make sure that your rom matches your rip.

Hope that is of some help.
