How is adding a controller that would INCREASE the ammount of people enjoying this system a bad thing?
Gotta chime in here, as I finally managed to find a Wii last week. It would be a bad thing because, put simply, the Wii can't compete with either the PS3 or the Xbox 360 in the dual-analog world. It's on the bottom of the pile in every way except physical size and, perhaps, reliability.
If Wii Madden 08 could be played in standard dual-analog fashion, EA would undoubtedly "quick port" it, and it would be be little improvement over 2006's GameCube title. But when EA is forced to "think different" about the entire game due to the Wiimote, everyone wins.
When you stick with the Wiimote controller foundation, and require developers to adapt if they want a piece of the Wii $$$ hotcakes, then Nintendo sets up itself (and Wii owners) for success.
