Just when you thought it was safe to speak the name of Iron Monkey, this exciting new contest from Digital Press smacks you upside the head like a slap of extra stinging! The gag actually started well before April 1st when Iron Monkey made an appearance here, followed by various challenges from Chosen One and culminating in the "takeover" on the 1st. You might say it was one of the most elaborate gags ever designed for a forum community. Some regular members were NOT happy with this... or were THEY part of the plot?
Here's how to play.
There were 9 "Official" Iron Monkey Clan members. These people are active forum participants who for a day (and in some cases a bit longer for the build-up to April Fools day) pretended to be someone else. These characters consisted of:
1. Iron Monkey
2. Chosen One
3. Riki-Oh
4. Drunken Master
5. Dirty Ho
6. Sho'Nuff
7. Steel Primate
8. Lo Pan
9. MOO
In addition, there were several members who joined in just for fun - unfortunately they'll be ineligible for the contest but their contributions are very welcome here - you guys added more fun for the "players" than you could possibly imagine!
10. Molybdenum Marmoset
11. Flowing Lotus Blossom
12. Iron Chef
13. Tai-Cheese
14. Pierre de la Merde
To win, guess which DP forum members "played the part" of this goofy Asian gang on April 1st. It won't be easy but there are clues about - find their posts through the forum search engine, notice some of the people who may have been missing that day, and see if you can match a personality to an alter-ego. You can guess any or all of the 14 above.
To enter, send an EMAIL (not a PM) to me with your guesses: digitalpress@email.com.
The contest begins RIGHT NOW and ends at 6pm Sunday, April 6th. The person who has guessed the most correctly (and wasn't part of the gag in any way) will win a brand new sealed Kakuto Chojin for Xbox - this is the game that has been recalled and will be a collector's item someday if it is not already.
