Alright, so I go to turn on my SNES last night, and it won't turn on. It's just dead. Power switch does nothing. I checked the AC adapter, where it's plugged in, etc. It worked fine a couple days ago.

So, I'm wondering how likely is it that the AC adapter would just go dead? Or that the system itself would? I can hardly imagine what would cause it; it's just been sitting there stationary since the last time I used it. And, what might the cause of this be/how could it be repaired?

Thanks.

I'd check another adapter. If you determine that it is indeed not the adapter, my next check would be the board on the inside of the unit.

This is a common SNES problem. I had to replace it on one of mine. Go to radio shack, and get an inline fuse holder, with proper type of fuse to replace with.
You can check before doing all that by using a small piece of wire and bypassing that fuse and hold it on each point. If it turns on, obviously the fuse is blown.

Desolder the old, and solder the new inline in place of it. If it blows again, you only have to open it up, and swap the fuse out.

Yeah, it's probably the fuse.
