Something like Neo-Geo Pocket's Gals Fighters but for a console?

Well there's Asuka 120% and Advanced V.G. for various systems. The saturn versions are good, I prefer Asuka myself.

Kind of a limited selection here... do the manly grunts bother you that much?

Dead or Alive on Xbox?
Strip Fighter on PC engine bootleg. That's a long shot, not worth it.

I saw you post via the landing page and immediately tought of Asuka 120% as well. My experience with it is somewhat limited, but I seem to recall lots of combos and fights that lasted since the damage meter wasn't cranked way up. I think the one I was playing was the PSX "Asuka 120% Burning Somethingorother." I don't remember what it was that was burning, exactly, but the game seemed fun.

Thanks for the feedback! Through your input and googles and such, It looks like Asuka 120% Limited on the Saturn (there were 4 different versions) and Variable Geo 2 on the PSX are the best console representations of what I'm looking for.

Note: I've also noticed that Arcana Heart is coming to the PS2 in the near future. Melty Blood (while not all female is mostly female) is available on the pc/ps2 right now :)

You're best off just settling for Dead or Alive. All I can think of is Strip Fighter II for PCE.

The Japanese playstation has several. And they are pretty easy to import.
All Japan Womens Pro wrestling
Asuka(there are 3 different versions)
Lighting Legend (mostly females)
Makeruna Makendu 2
Sailor Moon Super S
Advanced V.G. 1 and 2
Battle Sabers Marionette
Those should be enough to get you started. And some of these can be found on the Japanese Saturn too. All will have to be imported though, as a domestic release has never happened for any of them and they are all 2 video game generations old.

GOOD fighting games? Asuka 120% and Variable Geo Advanced for SegaSaturn are alright, (Pretty Fighter X can slip by I guess) but you'll rarely ever find an all female fighting game that was a serious attempt at making a good video game. Those cutsey school girl Melty Blood kind of games don't interest me at all so I haven't played them.
I think you can do better with MUGEN.
