Any good? How long does it take to beat?

I played a bit and wasn't too impressed by it. I got about 2 hours in and then started with Dragon Slayer and Exile (Exile I beat in one sitting).

It's a really simple RPG, and the plot is kind of slow. It's not a bad game, it just really shows its age.

Everyone pretty much hit the nail on the head. It is a dated, fairly standard RPG. The thing that hurts most in this day and age is actually the load times. For a more modern analogy, it's like playing a poorly coded PSP RPG.

Even though it is a very different game, I'd take Ys Book I & II over Cosmic Fantasy 2 any day. It is just long enough that you can play through and enjoy it multiple times. I know this suggestion brings nothing new to the party, but I can't help but advocate Ys any chance I get!

Cosmic Fantasy 2 is worth it if you can find the cinema screen Debug code and simply watch all the Anime scenes including the ending. The game itself sucks ass, did back in the day... still moreso now. It suffers waaaaaaaaaay too much from the fact that your characters will take like 3 steps maybe 8 if their lucky on the world map and then WAAAM! You get sucked into a battle with enemies. The dungeons are far worse with like 2 steps and it's battle time. The ending song by Marian Keegan isn't half bad though, and I believe old Blake Dorsey himself (voice actor for Sadler in the EXILE games by Working Designs) was one of the characters in the game as well, but I'm writing this all off of memory by now. Haven't played it in ages (well since like 1997 anyhow).
