Since everyone's getting sauced at the Afterparty (which I'm sitting out, largely because I had a killer of a caffeine-withdrawal headache by 4), I'll chime in with some first-day impressions:

-The main room is very big, and by noon, the area was crowded.

-The Robotron, Donkey Kong, and Ms. Pac Man cabs were occupied all day. Granted, the first two were right by the Twin Galaxies booth (and DK for obvious reasons), but it's kind of annoying to actually have to wait in line to play the best games after years of not having to wait in line. (Damn our good taste to Hell!)

-My resources were rather limited (after buying some manuals, Rayman 2, Super Thunder Blade, and-by accident, since I already own it-Wave Race 64 from Joe, and an armload of stuff from Next Level Games, I'm down to the plastic for day 2), but I'd probably have spent triple if I had more funds, especially since I didn't visit all of the booths, or even attempt to score any exclusives. It's a very, very, very good thing CGE fell between pay days for me.

-Best booth placement: The Intellivision Lives! booth, where Keith Robinson could be seen most of the day. It was right near one of the entrances.

-Most dangerous spending zone: The Swap meet room. Too much good stuff. (See my comment re: money above.)

-The Atari, Activision, and Al Alcorn's panels were all well worth the time, even if I was late to all of them. (D'oh!) Lots of funny stories to be told, as well as strong insight as to why the Crash happened (particularly with Al Alcorn's presentation). I'm fully expecting the Inty panel to tip me towards buying an Intellivision.

OK, so here's my plan for tomorrow:

-Visit the last of the booths (including the ones that'll damage my credit card).

-Spend time at the couch with the 2600. And owning the DPers in attendance. ;)

-Meeting more of the DPers in attendance.

-Attending the Inty and Behind the Scenes panels.

-Playing more games.

-Owning said DPers at the games there, and at the DS/Advance/Game Boy games I'll be bringing.

I suck at Warlords too. Don't feel too bad.

Well, I still did better than you, so maybe you should feel bad. :p
