Off the top of my head;
Comix Zone (GEN)
Boogerman (GEN)
Mario 64 (N64)
General Chaos (GEN)
Monsters in my Pocket (NES)

Also I have another question that is kind of related to this topic: In your opion what sequals were better than the originals? Off the top of my head without puting much thought into it my vote goes to Bubsy (GEN/SNES) Super Mario Brothers (NES)

Mario 64 had a sequel. What was Super Mario Sunshine, aside from a bad idea?

Okay your right about Sunshine but I didnt dig sunshine. So I want a better sequal.

Another vote for Crystalis. Loved the piss out of that game.
Big vote for Outcast, because it's pretty much one of the best action / adventure games ever made and the sequel that was supposedly in development for it was really just a tech demo to lure in some $$. Then the company folded and now we'll never get an Outcast 2 :(
Oh Cutter Slade, how I miss you.

Okay your right about Sunshine but I didnt dig sunshine. So I want a better sequal.
That's understandable because Sunshine was partly to mostly cloudy at best on the greatness scale.
Yet Mario 64 was a sequel itself, the sequel to Super Mario World (I do not count Yoshi's Island). So in reality, it can't really make the list. This list should be reserved for first installments. But then again, you made up the list and this thread so I suppose you are free to do what you like with it.
If we are talking games that are already sequels, I wish they'd make a 2D sequel to Final Fight 3 or Double Dragon Advance (or whatever the hell the last "real/new" game in the series was).

Dragon Force - Sega Saturn
Mystaria/Blazing Heroes - Sega Saturn
Super Mario RPG - SNES - not "paper mario" I know those were sequels, but I want a REAL sequel based off the same gameplay structure.
Burn Cycle - Philips CD-i
Starflight - Sega Genesis
Buck Rodgers: Countdown to Doomsday - Sega Genesis, actually I think it was a sequel "not sure", I still want to see another one.
Haunting: Starring Polterguy - Sega Genesis
Rock N Roll Racing - SNES
A Boy and His Blob - NES
This is just a few, I know I have more, i'll edit when I think of more.

General Chaos (GEN)
Haunting (GEN)
B.O.B. (SNES)
I thought B.O.B. was quite enjoyable. After I beat it I couldn't help thinking how bad-ass a sequel would be with more varied locales and enemies, and tighter control, more bosses, etc.

Dragon Force - Sega Saturn
There was a sequal to Dragon Force, but it was for Japan only.

Sequels I'd like to see...
-----------------------
Bare Knuckle (Streets of Rage) 4
[in high res 2-D]
Freedom Fighters 2 (or a "Gaiden")
PULSEMAN 2.0
Rolling Thunder 4: To End All Wars
Sunset Riders II: Bloody Sunrise
IKARI 4: The Road to Hell
-------------------------------------------
...basically sequels to older stuff done in 2-D with some faux 3-D elements in it, save the "Freedom Fighters" entry on that list.
D - I'd like a sequel based on the original concept of D2 and have it be more action based, yet keeping the feeling of seclusion like the games prior.
Parasite Eve - I wouldn't mind seeing a third game in the series, or perhaps a re-make that combines the two games.
Bushido Blade - This game is long over due for another sequel, the series had a great concept and was always a trip to play in VS mode.
Eternal Darknes - Explanation unneeded.
A Boy and His Blob - NES
There was a sequel release for the Gameboy called "Rescue of Princess Blobette", not sure if it's any good tho.

I was just about to mention that. I played it on Gameboy and didn't think it was very good, given all the hype I've read about A Boy and His Blob.
Then again, I never played the first one on NES so Rescue of Princess Blobette might compare favorably to A Boy and His Blob but either way, it ain't my style of game.

Genesis - I always thought there should have been a direct sequel to "Shinobi 3" that had the wonderful control of S3 but included Joe's dog.
This one probably belongs in Modern but.....how about a sequel to "Burnout 3" that still includes the "Road Rage" event as a single player event? That omission is the only thing that makes "Revenge" such an inferior product.:frustrated:

#1. a new Panzer Dragoon Saga or better yet a remake not that I prefer remakes over original but with Segas track record as of late it might be safer to hope for a competent remake before a full blown sequel.
#2. a new TRUE NEXT GEN WIPEOUT sure the PSP and download game are kool but I dont have a PSP and would like to see a REAL console version.
I also agree that new or remake versions of Legend of Dragoon and Parasite eve would be :onfire:
and of course a new Killer Instinct but the possibility of that happening is about the same as a new REAL Streetfighter 4 being released.

I would pay obscene amounts of money for a well-programmed, updated version of the old MtG: Duels of the Plainswalkers (or whatever it's called) PC game. The most recent version only goes up to The Dark, and it's just tragic that they stopped updating right when the cards were about to get interesting.
Someone on another message board tried this project, but soon gave up when he saw the ridiculous amount of work required.
I'd also pay obscene money for a sequel (or updated version) of Capcom's Soccer Shootout (SNES). More teams, better goalie AI, etc. Obscene amounts of money!

The "Shadowrun 2" they promise you when you finish the SNES Shadowrun. If this sequel is intended to be the Sega CD Shadowrun then it should be in English! Also more King's Quest sequels on Sega Master System, even if only 1 more was released it would be better than sweet.

Technically, Ghoul Patrol was the sequel to ZAMN.
Yeah, I really liked Ghoul Patrol. Felt kind of "floaty" though. Oooh, what about a ZAMN sequel (note the spelling!) for Wii Ware? That way, we won't have to deal with someone trying to make it 3D and effing up right royal.

Thunder Force. Too bad #6 was trashed.
Kid Icarus...an RPG would be cool
Crystalis
Punch Out!
Mother (I just want 3 here)
Ninja Gaiden (2D)
Shadowgate, but like the original point and click, only made cool for today's audience. Shut up, it can be done.
Double Dragon...yes Advance was awesome, but I want a true sequel
Wonder Boy
Alex Kidd
A non-online Phantasy Star dealing with the first games' storylines.
Golvellius
The Guardian Legend
I can't think of any more right now.

Cybernator/Assault Suit Leynos
I always really enjoyed that one. It wasn't a very difficult game, but I thought they really pulled off the physics, sound and atmosphere of a giant mech game. Lot's of different gameplay types too, which was cool.
That and it had lasers. Really big lasers.

Shh....Capcom will hear you.
I'm pretty sure they have a team of people that are paid to do nothing but read message boards in hopes that someone will utter the phrase "I want a new Mega Man game". Reading this is enough to get another game in the series made...and to have MM fight another friggin' Ice themed Boss.

-Jet Set Radio Future (But if they make a sequel, keep it similar to the DC version)
-Panzer Dragoon Saga
-Xbox Ninja Gaiden
-Dead Rising
-Crackdown
-Gears Of War
-Rez
-Zillion (But make it like the first Zillion, Zillion 2 just plain sucked)

Or another fire themed boss.
Actually if the NES had just held out a little bit longer, we'd have been able to fight the likes of Breeze Man, Taco Man, Garden Weasel Man, Ginsu Knife Man, Wing Man, Leg Man, Milk Man, Mail Man, Walk Man (get it, Walkman?) & Disc Man in Capcom's latest 8-bit MM installment.

-Bionic Commando
Bionic Commando: Elite Forces was released for the Game Boy Color in 2000. I didn't get too far, but thought it was well done. According to Gamestats.com, it received an excellent overall rating of 8.9 out of 10.

I haven't devoted much time to it, but from what I played, and what I hear, it's definitely playable if you exert some small amount of grit and determination. It has a small fanbase, but OTOH has some critics who thought it was rather ho-hum. Cheap, so if you can get it might as well

Well I'm certainly not the biggest fan of sequels, but:
Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2. One of the top fighters on the Neo, and more than deserving of a hi-res sequel.
Last Blade 3. Yeah, I know the series was concluded with the 2 games, but this is certainly deserving of a hi-res sequel/remake too. The games look gorgeous anyhow, but sequels to LB and Garou running hi-res on Naomi or Atomiswave hardware would have been the best thing ever ('ever' does not include my super wonderful sexy missus, who's standing behind me...).
And my own personal 'dream game' would be a sequel to the absolutely fabulous Gals Fighters on the Neopoke. Capcom vs SNK 3: Gal's Fighters would make an absolutely cracking full size arcade game (with inevitable PS2 conversion ;)). Yeah, I now it won't/can't happen but imagine all the lovely ladies from all of SNK and Capcom's IPs slugging it out in a full-on arcade game.

An updated Pro Wrestling from Nintendo would be my dream come true. Nostalgia, I guess...

08-03-2007, 04:15 AM
My dream sequels:
1. Kid Icarus - Why is it taking Nintendo so long for this one? Miyamoto even hinted at this being made for the Wii, but it doesn't look like that will ever happen. It would be awesome, though. I see it as a cross between Ico/Shadow of the Colossus and God of War.
2. Punch Out!! - If they make one for the Wii I just hope that it uses traditional controls rather than motion sensing like Wii Boxing. But a new Punch Out would be great.
3. Pro Wrestling - This is one of the best wrestling games ever for classic systems, that is. I think it would be great if it were updated with all the original wrestlers returning and all in 3D! Also with a big story mode/career mode, as well as a create-a-wrestler. It would be great.
4. Karnov - This is one of the coolest NES games ever. I would love to see a sequel for it.
5. Wizards and Warriors - The first one was awesome, but the second and third ones weren't as good. I would love to see a dedicated next-gen sequel for this one.
6. Fire Prowrestling - Fire Prowrestling R was, in my opinion, the best wrestling game ever made, but some are suggesting that it may be the very last Fire Pro ever. :(
7. All Star Pro Wrestling - I recently bought All Star Pro Wrestling 3 and it is quite awesome. It really has that Japanese wrestling feeling to it. The only thing is that the controls aren't as good as they could be. I think one more sequel would allow them to get the controls down just right.

Kid Icarus (NES) we all know that's long over due.
Darkstalkers (Arcade and many console ports) I wouldn't care if capcom made another SF, but i buy another DS that's for sure.
Bonk (TG16) i'm sorry putting bonk on cell phones is retarded.
Blaster Master (NES) afther the last one for the PS1 we need a real sequel shesh !

Two of my Top Three favorite games of time need sequels that really do them justice.
The first is Super Mario RPG. I know Paper Mario is supposed to be a sequel, but it just doesn't have anything on the original. The original characters in the game were awesome. I love Geno to death, he's one of my all time favorites. I'd love to see Geno, Mallow, Booster, Frogfucius, Toadofsky, Smithy, Johnny, and so forth again on the next gen system. That would be so amazingly epic.
The second, is Final Fantasy Tactics. I am utterly stoked that Tactics is getting remade for the PSP. Hell, I went out and got one again (and LocoRoco) just because it was coming out. But that's not a sequel, and Tactics advance doesn't even begin to compare to the original. to this day, Tactics is my favorite story in any game I've ever played, and there's tons of amazing characters that could easily be put in a story as epic and captivating as original Tactics.
Other favorites of mine I'd love to see sequels/new versions of:
- Ice Climber
- Balloon Fight
- another original Mega Man game. Yes, I said it, and I'm serious :)
- Mega Man Soccer
- The Tower of Druaga
- Quest of Ki
- Return of Ishtar
- The Blue Crystal Rod
- LocoRoco
- Tactics Ogre
- Bad Dudes! ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO STOP AL-QAEDA?! XD
- Vectorman
- a new version of R.O.B.
- Dig Dug
I'm gonna stop here XD Overactive imagination today XD

I want a real Shining Force. Or simply the 3rd game remade and localized.
And while a Crystalis sequal would be bitchin' ... I just don't see the inevitable transition to 3rd. Or rather I DO see it and it scares me.
And yes, a real Shadowrun would also be awesome, as would Fallout but heh, that's coming out. (YAY!)
Also:
Wonder Project J (There's an N64 sequal but I want something in english)
Princess Maker (see above)
Lunar 3 (with Dyne and Ghalleon!)
Breath of Fire 5 (for real this time)
Sweet Home
Alundra (That dosen't suck)
Another Princess Tomato would hilarious....
And while we're on the matter of ports and translation I'd like to see some more Marl Kingdom games that aren't tactical RPGs. Or rather play more like Rhapsody than Disgaea.
