So way back when (2003), Ubisoft put up some (three) free levels for Splinter Cell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Clancy%27s_Splinter_Cell#Versions) on Xbox Live. The catch of course being that you had to subscribe to Xbox Live to get them. Are these levels available by any other means? I've heard that there's an Official Xbox Magazine cover disc with one (or all?) of them on it, but I'm sure it'd be a bit of a pain to come across now a days.
Can I connect to Xbox Live to download them with simply a Silver account? Are there any other low-cost/freebie discs that had the bonus missions on them (and if so, can anyone point me in the direction to buy one)?
Worst case scenario, I'll just pick up the PS2 version and play through them on there. I'm just trying to avoid the hassle of subscribing for a month, canceling and then having to monitor my bill to make sure the account was closed out properly. Shelling out $6 for the PS2 version instead just seams more appealing in this case. I'd be totally down for resoftmodding the Xbox and manually installing the levels if need be. I'm just trying to make sure I play through everything before I move on to Pandora Tomorrow.
Also, it pains me that this almost qualifies for "Classic Gaming".
