Hi
I just picked up terranigma with a universal converter and cant get it to work. All I get is a black screen. Anyone have any ideas how I can get this game to work on my system?
thanks,

I can't tell you for sure but i think it has something to do with region protection chip. I beleive the game checks if its being played on a PAL system by checking the htz. if its a NTSC system it won't start.

i beleive the only way around this is to mod the snes with a 60/50 htz switch. or it may have a regular kind of lockout stuff as well which also required a mod switch. or perhaps both.....

Get your soldering iron out and put 50/60 Hz and Region switches in there.

I also hear a Pro Action Replay 3 and some versions of the action replay 2 work as well

i beleive there are a couple threads on this subject you can find with the search option.

I recently hooked up my PAL SNES and plugged in Terranigma. All I got was a rolling screen. I hooked it up to a monitor and adjusted the vertical hold. I steadied the screen but it was still in balck and white. I think I need to get a PAL to NTSC video convertor. You may very well need the same thing.

isn't it better/easier just to mod a NTSC SNES to play PAL games? i think hes trying to play the game on NTSC system. if your useing a PAL system on a NTSC set thats a whole other set of issues.

Yep. Boot the game in 50Hz then switch to 60Hz when it's running and you'll get a perfect picture.
