Does anyone know of any import stores that sell Japanese original Xbox games? Of the few import online stores I searched, they either don't have any Xbox games or only have a very small selection that rarely exceeds 10-20titles for sale. If anyone knows of an import store with a hugh collection of Japanese Xbox titles(not including 360 titles) please PM or reply in this thread. Thanks in advance.

Really, it's going to be hard finding Asia version games these days. It wasn't that popular of a system in Asia (to say the least). Most stores in Singapore have sold out of Xbox stock by now -- last I was in town hardly anybody had stock left.

I think finding Asian xbox games now is going to be like finding DC or Saturn games -- you'll be resorting to eBay, etc. Any Asia-specific games you're looking for?

I know it's super hard to find these games. Thats why I posted on here, to see if I could get any good leads. And ebay hasn't been too helpful either. It's way easier to find Dreamcast and Saturn games (both US and Japanese) than it is to find Japanese Xbox games. Oh well, I'll just keep searching.

There's really very few non-US released games anyway. Magatama, Metal Wolf Chaos, Psyvariar 2, SMT: Nine....

DC and Saturn were both sold in far greater numbers than Xbox in Asia as well. Xbox was well supported in Singapore, Taiwan, and I believe HK, and just not bought in Japan. I don't believe it was released anywhere else in Asia.

Another option is to hit Y!J via one of the many services for this sort of thing -- most likely your best bet.

question- are you looking to collect both US and Japanese versions of certain titles or are you looking for Japan-only games? if you've got a modded Xbox, you really might want to look into PAL games, as you'll actually find more releases the US didn't get that are a lot more interesting than some of the Japanese stuff. I'm also still looking for Japanese games, but in the meantime, PAL games like Conan, Knights of the Temple (I & II), Alien Hominid, Richard Burns Rally and otherslike Jacked, Die Hard Vendetta (yikes), and the most awful Conspiracy: Weapons of Mass Destruction, among others are out there waiting.

In terms of Japanese stuff, Magatama is great (mostly), Dinosaur Hunting is innovative (i've got the unreleased US version here as well), Metal Wolf Chaos is expensive and hard to find (one on ebeg now at $75 and probably going up), the Shikigami games are cool, Shin Megami Tensei Nine is strange if you don't read the language, muzzle flash is terrible and online only.. i'm still looking for games and demos, but it's not an easy task, that's for sure. One other thing: if you see Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams in your travels, pick it up, as it has full English or Japanese text and dialog.

Yeah, I basically wanted to get the Japanese versions of my favorite games, like Halo and Star Wars: KOTOR. Also, like Silent Hill 2, the Japanese version of Ninja Gaiden has no territory lock-out and can also be played in English or Japanese. That was a very cool surprise when I got it from ebay because the seller obviously didn't know.

They really don't have anything. I tried looking there awhile ago, but to no avail.

That was mine. Bit surprised to see it end that high.

As far as I know, there's no JPN version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Maybe there's an Asian/Eng language version but I haven't seen one.
Halo is worth tracking down and the new dub is a nice change if you're used to the original US voiceovers. Should be really cheap as well.

There are Japanese versions of Star Wars: KOTOR 1 and 2. They were listed on one of the import sites I was on, but were both out of stock. So they exist but the problem is actually finding them.

???

Anyway, Xbox stuff is cheap and plentiful in the Japanese shops these days. Seems to be a bit more trade in the games than a few years ago with the 360 doing OK (original Xbox games and 360 games are typically stocked near each other)...

Hey Smork, do you have any good recommendations of online import stores I could search for import xbox games? I know Play Asia recently restocked their xbox collection with a few pages full of games new and used. Does any other import store have more than a small handful of original xbox import titles for sale?

I'm a bad person to ask as I have bought maybe 5 games online total in my life. I doubt you'll find much as there isn't a whole lot of demand for Japanese xbox games as there were so few exclusives. Yahoo Japan might be the only reliable place?

That's because there aren't any good leads for an on-line import shop that has a large Xbox selection. I wish people would understand that certain things just don't exist and no amount of posting or wishing is going to change that fact. That's not to say that you can't find Xbox import titles, but like a previous poster told you, you can either keep watching Ebay or take the plunge and use a bidding service on Yahoo Japan. That is the easiest way to get games in new or mint condition cheap.

I have been watching ebay. Yahoo Japan is generally too expensive after factoring in shipping charges and a third party charge. But like I said, maybe something will come up. Part of the reason we are all on here is because some people find things that others are looking for. Thats part of the beauty of this site.

well, if you're looking for something specific just let me know. I (as you might suspect) spend alot of time in the shops, maybe I can help you out now and then. Still a shipping fee, of course :)

Of course. Let me know if you see the Japanese versions of Star Wars Kotor 1 or 2. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Japan got Dronez, which pissed me off to no end.

I was waiting for that game since before they even released the Dreamcast. Then they cancelled the DC version and decided to port it to the Xbox. Then they cancel the US release, and release it only in Japan.

:(

And the only place I found where I can import it, they want almost $70 for it. *no thanks*....

Sorry - had to rant for a second, there....

Here's another store I like shopping at for all my rare NeoGeo/import games
toysnjoys.com (http://www.toysnjoys.com/importxbox.html)
they sell quite a few import xbox games, more so than they show online. I highly recommend you contact them. they also do special orders.

Toys and Joys is literally the worst on-line retailer I have ever dealt with. I ordered once from them five years ago and received a damaged game that wasn't factory sealed as they advertised it. It was only $20, so I didn't make too big a deal of it, but it kept me from ordering from them until a few months ago when against my better judgment and the hundreds of complaints around the web, I gave them another shot. I ordered five newer Xbox games at full retail that I was tired of searching Ebay for. Before placing the order, I e-mailed them to confirm them were in stock and were factory new. Several days later, I got a response that they were both in stock and new. So, I ordered. Cut to two weeks later and still no merchandise. I e-mail them and a week later I get an e-mail saying they are out of stock, but might be able to get them in within a few weeks. They never sent me anything besides the order confirmation, not even a courtesy to say they were backordered or giving me the option to cancel. I had to call them and get them to cancel the order and it still took them a week to send me a confirmation that it had been cancelled.

Long story short, do not ever deal with Toys and Joys as they have terrible customer service and don't have most of what's listed on their site.

I have to agree, they sorely need to update their website. Some of the games they have on their website has obviously been sold out a long time ago which is kind of irritating...that said though, I've always called them up regarding a certain items availability so I personally never had any kind of surprises like that.

.....well, I'm all outta ideas...good luck with your search though.
