It's that time of year! Time for Too Many Games to host another terrific gaming convention! Sunday August 26th TMG is taking over the Inn at Reading for another terrific day of classic and modern gaming!

Come out for the day and enjoy playing some of your favorite classic systems including Atari 2600, Intellivision, NES, Super NES, and modern day gaming systems like Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2, and more!

As always TMG boasts the largest vendor marketplace assembled for an indie game convention! Over 50 tables will be jammed full of thousands of classic and modern video games for your to purchase at WAY below prices you'd pay on eBay or in game shops!

TMG will play host to several gaming tournaments, including Wii Sports Bowling, Atari 2600 Megamania, Super Smash Bros Melee, and a Magic: The Gathering card tournament!

Admission for TMG is only $2.00 and with your paid admission you receive a $2.00 off coupon good at any of the vendor tables at Too Many Games! Anyone who brings functional arcade games for attendees to play free receives a $10.00 coupon for each machine they bring as well as free admission! (please contact chuck@toomanygames.com regarding bringing arcade games)

Vendor tables are still available for anyone who wants to get in on all the fun of selling games, running your own tournament, or just setting up some of your collection for people to play at the show! Our tables are EXTREMELY well priced starting at only $25 and going up to only $30!

All the information for the show can be found at our website, http://www.toomanygames.com Check it out and join the fun Sunday August 26th!

Cool... as always, I can't wait! I'll see what cabs I can bring this time... probably a 48-in-1 cocktail, maybe a Dig Dug cocktail, and maybe a Gorf and Galaga Mini (I'm finally getting a few small cabs I can actually fit in my van :) ). I'll drop you an email when we get closer to the show and I get everything figured out. I'm sure it'll be another great show!

I'm glad to bring them... they hardly get played here, so it's cool to give them a little exercise ;) . I'll check with Dave (the guy who brought the Marble Madness and Food Fight the one year) and see if he can make it with some of his games. Any chance of the Challenge Arcade guy bringing any?

I'll try my best to get a couple machines out of him, no promises tho'. The arcade just got a Robotron machine I think would get a lot of play at the convention, maybe I can talk him into loaning us that and something else for the day.

It's a shame that QuarterArcade.com and TNT Amusements have no interest in doing the shows any more. They said they got no business out of being arcade sponsors, but I'm not entirely sure how true that is. I'm sure if I were to pony up some green they'd change their minds, but what can ya' do. I run the show on a budget so I can pass the savings onto the vendors and attendees! 8*)

Hey I'm going 100% sure of it, I've never been to a game convention in the six years I've collected games. And I've never met anyone from the DP message board, so I think before the 26th we should figure out a place to met or something and get together kinda an ice-breaker or something and introduce ourselves to each other. To bring a sence of community to the board.

I'm gonna be looking to pick up an Intellivision II at the show, preferablly CIB and in really good shape (system being really clean is more important than it being boxed to me). If anyone's planning to come to the show and wants to get rid of one for $20-50 plus some trade (depending on condition and completeness) drag it along with ya'. 8*)

Hey just make sure it goes to an attendee and not a VENDOR who then just puts it for sale at their table..... :shameful:

I know a lot of people were bummed about that, but it was 100% luck of the draw, Mike's ticket number was randomly picked. I'm not too thrilled that he put it up for sale, but he won it, it was his to do with as he pleased.

I hope it's not being implied that the giveaway was rigged, I would not and will not ever rig a give away. You've been at the shows before, you know how randomly I give prizes away, many times straight from my own personal collections (boxed Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, both the Vecs given away were from my collection, countless little trinkets like the Mario figures from last year, the ECGXpo t-shirts, etc... all given away straight from my collection or out of my pocket).

Hey, thanks Joe! I and several TMG attendees and vendors hope that DP and CGE will join us at a future show. I haven't seen you or John in a few years, would be great to toss back a couple beers and just shoot the shit for a bit.

I'm still too tired to write a proper wrap-up, but I'll get around to it tonight or tomorrow. 8*)

Some highlights include an amazing over 200,000 score in our Megamania tournament, a three way tie in our Wii Sports Bowling tournament, and the amazing DJ work by the fine folks from Overclocked Remix. As always I was too busy to take a whole lot of pics, hopefully someone else has a whole pile to share.

While there's nothing 100% official yet, we did put some feelers out with some of the vendors for future events.

I'm 100% sure in 2009 we'll be putting on a larger show, most likely at the Valley Forge Convention Center, home to past PhillyClassic shows. Paul (mindlesspunk) has already joined up for co-organizing a 2009 event with me and I'm still looking for more organizers, volunteers, and all that good jazz. As for 2008, I'm still not sure what the future holds. I'm 80% sure I'm going to be hosting at least one TMG in 2008, more than likely at The Inn at Reading again, more than likely with more space. It's always an uphill battle when you're organizing conventions, but talking with a bunch of people at this past show who are more than willing to help, I think the uphill battle may become a little easier. 8*)

If anyone is actively involved with a specific gaming community, Neo Geo, Turbo, NES, arcade, Atari, Vectrex, whatever it may be, and you think you're community wants to be a part of TMG or any future shows, PLEASE talk with your fellow community members, I want 2009 to be a HUGE gaming event. I want all generations, all hardware, all genres, everything represented. I want at least 30 consoles setup for free play, I want live music, I want OCR back with all their great music and DJ work, I want guest speakers, I want discussion panels, I want an arcade's worth of coin-ops, I want you there! 8*) Help us make our 2009 event the best video game convention the east coast's ever gonna see!
