Few decent things this week:
NES storage case in box. Never seen this before, but I remember these sorts of things from way back, and my Colecovision is in pretty much an identical case. $5 from the SA. PLanescape Torment was $5 from GW.

SNES and some games for 30 at a garage sale. I bit pricey, but the games are super clean and I wanted most of them: Outlander, SMW, Knights of the Round, Super ghouls and ghosts, Lost Vikings, Sealed Sim City, Mickey mouse Magical..., NHL, Castlevania 4, Jungle Strike.
http://home.comcast.net/~evanwink/images/games/finds32.jpg
And today I found the NES schemed GBASP for 20, the 4 guides were 10, and everything else added up to 3.50.

edit/ps. The box for that Organizer is pretty funny. First, the decal across the front is visibly peeling off in one of the pictures. Next, while I'm sure there is some sales reason for it, the picture with everything put away/closed on top of the entertainment center, except a game is sitting out next to it. And lastly, the kid is playing with the zapper about a foot from the screen; surprisingly the zapper is plugged into the 'B' port, but there isn't anything in the 'A' port.

Saw Chrono Trigger at a local used book store, and almost cried when I saw the price. It was marked $59.99, but I couldn't resist. It hass both maps/posters and it's all in great condition. I guess I can sell my loose copy I got for $8.00 to cover part of the cost. I consider it rewarding myself for being so cheap my whole life.

Also, I got these three games from an online store. They were all $9.98.

Time Gal (Sega CD)- $9.98
Road Rash (Sega CD)- $9.98
Road Avenger (Sega CD)- $9.98

Picked up a bunch of older computer games yesterday:
Targhan
Pocket Rockets
Covert Action
Wrath Demon
Space Ace
Rocketeer
Pirates! Gold
Wolfpack
Lucas Multi Pack:
Monkey Island
Loom
Maniac Mansion
Zac McCracken
Stunts
Dragons Lair
Conan
Gunship
Airborne Ranger
Ecstatica
Mega Race
Microsoft Money 97
There are a bunch of others too, most of them with all the boxes. Of course since they are mostly on floppies, I had to buy and external floppy for my laptop. And since a bunch are also on 5 1/4 inch floppy, that would be a problem except that since the people were moving, they threw in a box of PC hardware for free. In the box is a 5 1/4 floppy drive. There was also a couple joysticks and a TV tuner card.
Total cost: $10

Lucas Multi Pack:
* Monkey Island

* Zac McCracken
That alone is worth close to $100. God DAMN.
Anyway. Today was okay but not the best. I got:
Sonic CD (Windows 95 DirectX version), jewel case rerelease, complete - $1
Sam & Max Hit The Road (CD only) - $1
Super Mario Bros. 3 (boxed and complete) - $2 (the seller wanted $3, I was about to give her the money and she lowered the price o_O)
And at another booth, the seller said she had three or four large containers filled with CDs... she was barely sorting through them, but I managed to snag Return to Castle Wolfenstein (PC), System Shock 2 (PC) and a Kitaro CD, all for $5. I'm going back there tomorrow to see what else she's got. I saw several empty Japanese PS1 game cases, and a few complete PS1 games but most were kiddie games. Here's hoping I find something cool tomorrow.

Well, I had what was probably my last big hoorah of game hunting this summer today before I head back home and back to school, which will result in my game purchases slowing down and being online-only. So, anyway, I went to a city-wide garage sale and stopped at more houses than I could count. I didn't find that much game stuff and there was nothing too mind-blowing, but I left with some pretty good stuff:
Purchase #1:
Sega CD model 2 boxed - was $5, got for $4. I already got a boxed model 2, but this was a great deal and this box is much nicer than my beat up piece of crap. Plus this one actually has the tray and other packing materials still. Only problem is that there seems to be an issue with the CD tray, but it looks like it should be an easy fix whenever I bother to do it (probably years from now, haha).
Purchase #2:
Bushido Blade (PlayStation) - priced at $1 loose
Street Fighter II Tiger handheld - priced at $.25
Got both for $.75
Purchase #3:
Panzer Dragoon Orta (XBox) - priced at $5 in case but no manual
Mortal Kombat I & II (Game Boy) - priced at $.50 loose
Paperboy (GBC) - same as above
Atari Anniversary Advance (GBA) - ditto
Pac-Man Collection (GBA) - ditto
Got all of that for $6
Then on the way home, as exhausted as I was, I made a quick stop at the thrift where I got the awesome 3DO and PC game finds to see if anything else really great was there that didn't make it to the floor last time, but no such luck. I did, however, pick up the SimCity Planning Commission Handbook that's been there for awhile to go with the first edition SimCity I bought, and I found two official Nintendo Power strategy guides for Star Fox Adventures and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. I don't have either of those games, but I'm sure I will eventually and I just have a fondness for Nintendo Power guides. I got the three guides for $1.99 a piece.

havn't been going to my local haunts for awile, and I swear i'm the only one in the area that collects video games, becuase if i stop going for a few weeks the stuff just piles up ;-)
all the psx games were just piled up in the case, some in the regular cd rack, I was a little dispaointed with 9 as it was missing a disk, but i got them to mark it down to half price, funnily enough when i got everything home and inspected them a little closer disk 4 to 9 was stuck in the case for 8, so they all ended up being complete, alpha 3 is missing the manual but I always wanted to play it again so worth the 5$, offical nintendo player's guide was a buck, missing the stickers but its slightly better then my copy. I ended up finding the wii demo disk things in our backroom priced at 1 cent each I figured they'd make good extra cases down the road., picked up the gijoe set at work, wish I got the cobra set instead but i wasn't paying attention oh well ;-)
aside from suikoden and front mission 3, all the rpgs are up for trade or sale if anyone is looking for em (ff7 is probably going on egay as its in minty shape with untouched manual and unscratched disks)

Not a bad trip to teh flea market thsi week. I picked up SBK2 for 5 and Super C for 2, I've wanted both of them for some time, so I didn't care that they were a little higher than I would like to pay.
The Wii countdown clock is awsome, and that was a steal at $5
And the Gameboy Pocket is MINT, battery cover and everything, a total of $5.
Picross I picked up at Walmart for $19.82 last night, man that game is addicting.

Today I picked up a 1978 Mego 2-XL robot in great shape for $3.93, a bag containing four 2-XL games on 8-track tapes for $4.94 (Games & Puzzles vol. 1, 50's and 60's Nostalgia, General Information, and General Information III). I also picked up two controllers scotch-taped together for $1.91, with two 'NEC GrlP-Pads', made by Gravis and with 9-pin Genesis plugs on the end. They look like Saturn pads, with 6 buttons on the front and with shoulder buttons. I never knew NEC made Genesis controllers.

Only one item from the flea market this week. A Tomy Cosmic Clash tabletop handheld...
http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-08-21(01).jpg
Nice little electromechanical tabletop. Interesting since it uses a small record inside for sound effects and speech - yes, speech in a tabletop. The enemy ships that scroll by are on a little strip of film that is lit from behind. The laser beam that you shoot works the same way, there's a lighted cylinder that has a film strip roll over that creates the beam. Explosions are created by a shutter on the back that moves to the side, creating the effect.
The seller wanted $30 last week and the machine was in perfect condition. This week he wanted $15 and I could tell that the machine had been dropped since the last time I took a look at it. Apparently he attempted to fix it by bending the bezel up to try to get inside. The only way to get into these is to make a cut down the sideart sticker on both sides - which I had to do. It's printed on cardboard, then glued down so it's not removable like the control panel sticker on the Coleco tabletops. Inside I found a spring retainer that was broken (easy fix) and one of the power contacts near the switch had some broken plastic which I also fixed. These games are pretty damn complex inside. Anyway, I lubricated all the gears while I had it open. I set the bezel out in the sun to get it flexible and bent it back pretty close to flat. Reassembled everything and it works perfectly now. It shall make a nice adition to my mini arcade. :)

I hit up one of the pawn shops that I normally don't go to that often because their game selection is slim and expensive. They marked down a lot of their game prices to the same prices as their movies ($2-10 each) so I looked through their games.
One stuck out in my mind, SNK vs. Capcom 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001 for Playstation 2. I paid $4. I'll probably give it a quick go and hawk it on eBay. It seems to go for $30 or so.

Tales of Lore (loose with manual and a map)
All for two dollars each. And for some reason, I ended up with half of the manual for Ultima, which was stuck with the manual with Deja Vu. Weird.
Oddly enough, I was stoked to find that Mario/Duck Hunt manual. When I was a kid, I re-read that thing hundreds of time until it eventually got lost. Nice to have a relic of the past back again. :)

Here are some items I've picked up in the past couple of weeks:
The NES stuff was all $2 apiece. SNES heavyweights were a bit expensive, but I wanted'em. DS games were buy 1 get 1 free at my local mom & pop game store. Pokemon Ruby was a freebie from a buddie and the COD3 was from the $5 rack at my local pawn shop.

Persona 3 was regular price but I got to pick the two game guides for free with its purchase. Wii Mario Strikers was $10 and Bioshock was, of course, full price. The handheld fishing games was .50 (I pick up everyone I ever see at flea markets...just because...

This is my mostly worthless, no-tailed cat, Gary, being utterly lazy on my slightly used gamers couch. And in keeping in form with the thread...just what would he be worth?

I picked up Grandia III for the PS2 from a pawn shop today. Did this game originally come with a cardboard sleeve to go around the DVD case?

A few pick-ups the other day.
Wii
Elebits (happy I found this).
Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition (only CC had it...weird, is it going out of print)?
Wii Component Cables
Today:
Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space - 8 dollars - New
So happy about Blinx 2, not one Gamestop in my area had even a used copy, and for 8 bucks new, I was thrilled.

I finally broke down and picked up a DS Lite, as I had been wanting one for awhile and needed something to play on the road. I also picked up Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. Still haven't had a chance to play it yet but definitely looking forward to it.

I had a good day at the flea yesterday. Picked up the following movies (no games for me this week!)
Lost Season 1
Heroes Season 1
The Indiana Jones Collection
Armageddon
The Bourne Identity
Rounders
King Kong
Got that whole lot for $60. I left a happy camper :)
After that, I took back my 42" plasma T.V. which was still in the store warranty period. Texas Hold 'Em on Live Arcade had burned into my screen and I never play for more than an hour at a time. My buddies came over to help me load it up, and one of them played Assault Heroes for about 30 minutes. The life meter burned into the screen that quickly! I took it back to Wally World where I bought it and was given a full refund without a hassle. I then went to Circuit City and bought a 40" Samsung LCD that does 1080p. Brought it home and hooked it up and I love it! Watched Wild Hogs with my buds and it looked great. I can't wait to watch some Blu Ray movies on this puppy!

Not too much of note other than the mint Phantasy Star II with hint guide, manual and map for $3.75.

Kinda off topic, but it's rare to find near mint and complete board games in the wild. These were $3 apiece at my local peddlers mall.

Spent $13 at the flea market today.
Picked up a CIB copy of Clockwork Knight for $2. It was in an odd case, which caused me to look at it...it was in a PAL case. I had never seen a Saturn PAL case; they're almost like a slim DVD case -- much better design than the terrible US ones.
Then I grabbed cart only Genesis stuff for $11:
Game Genie
Contra Hard Corps (finally found it; been wanting this for a while)
Ecco the Dolphin
Ms. Pacman (wanted the two player mode)

NES Felix the cat with manual (R5)
NES Dragon Warrior II (R5)
NES Dragon Warrior III (R4)
Sega3 with controller and all hookups
Knight Rider metal lunchbox (I had to lol)
Spent $60 on all of the above. Kinda pricey for me, but, I really needed those games!

Only one item from the flea market this week. A Tomy Cosmic Clash tabletop handheld...
Yah those are badass. I found mine at a yard sale for a buck... threw some batteries in it (C's or D's... big suckers) and played it! The sound is horrible but wicked cool as like you said, it's a record.... u can see it in front!

Nice day today! I wondered into a Cash Converters and someone unloaded a bunch of old rental Dreamcast and Playstation games. I'm kinda broke til Friday but I had to pick two games up:
SNES
Axelay (L - $2)
- Found a copy last week, decided to pick this extra up for a friend.
DC:
Sonic L.E. (C - $2)
- Complete with Hollywood Video labling around the face of the disc. It has some light scratches but isn't bad at all.
This makes my second R7 game, the other being Phychic Force (which is disc only :( ).

It's an Atari 2600 Kid's Controller. There are certain games (Some Sesame Street game and a few others-I think) that came with an overlay for this controller that told you what the buttons did for that game.

Few things this past week.
SNES w/ SMW, SMKart, F-zero, Super Bases Loaded, Rival Turf!, Mortal Kombat, Super Soccer: 35. A bit much, but I can keep some of the games and still make a little bit on CL.
http://home.comcast.net/~evanwink/images/games/finds34.jpg
Dreamcast with two discs of SNES and NES roms/players. Good shape w/ 2 controllers, VMU, and S-video cable. 10 bucks

GCN w/ games. Paid too much, but the LoZ: CE is minty. Now I just hope the price on them goes back up so I can sell my old one that has some light scratches.
