Count on it. The attendance and "fun factor" of 2k7 has really put a charge in the CGE team. We'll announce show dates and anything else relevant to CGE 2k8 right here as well as on the site www.cgexpo.com

I'm definitely looking forward to 2008. I've got a bunch of people at my work interested in going next year, too.

Fantastic. I was hoping enough people showed and it went well enough for you guys to want to do another show.
See you guys at CGE 08 for sure! :)

I'll prob be passing on 2008,but might return in 2009 since vegas is in flux right now with every place under construction.

I got news for ya. Vegas has been "in flux right with every place under contruction" for many years. If you wait until it's done we won't see you again for decades.
Just a quick tip for everyone. Start saving now! I can't stress enough how important this is. Think of it this way: If you put $2 a day away in a jar or a christmas club account, you'd have over $700 saved for next year. More than enough for airfare, hotel and a little left over depending on where you're coming from.
I look forward to seeing EVERYONE next year. Let's shoot for 100+ DP forum members in 2008.
See you all there!

yes I know, the thing is basicly it's best for me to attend at least evrey 2 years, not just because of the way the vegas is changing, also because I also plan to attend to Midwest Gaming Classic next year as well have VGS my budget can only afford to attend 2 shows. so in 2009 I might skip MGC so I can attend your show. this year I didn't have show because 2006 had been hit bad with loss of sponsors and attendees,so we took a page out of your
books by skipping a year and returning the next.
also if you didn't know I've been attending CGE every 2 years when it was in vegas (2k and 2k2)when it went to cali figured to skip it for obvious reasons, then you came back to vegas this year I had to return.
the real thing is if you go to vegas too many times in a row you get bored, best to return every 2 yrs.

Heh, maybe I can convince some of the Burgertime movie players to attend this one.
Hopefully it won't fall on the same date as Comic Con next year, and I can go to both!

Please, PLEASE don't do another CGE the same weekend as ComicCon... I don't think I can deal with having to make that choice again! :)

Just put $3 in my savings account today. I plan to make to CGE next year. I coulden't make it this year since I have a trip to Tenn. coming up in November. I will saving money for this on a daily basis as you suggested. Might have to avoid going to the pawn shops as much as I do now.

Don't worry - now that we know what ComiCon *is* we won't book on the same day. Sorry for being so daft, but hopefully you understand that we're so focused on gaming that comics never entered our minds. It won't happen again.
Just seeing John (CX2K) on the forums days after a show is encouraging! The CGE guys usually go into hibernation after a show. Looks like 2k8 has already begun.
I'd suggest everyone make plans to attend. Signs point to "classic", indeed.

Like I said, I might not be able to make it next year... but believe me, I'll be doing everything I can to make it. This year was just too good, I don't wanna miss a show!
Especially when it's still in Vegas... maybe I can hit the tables and pay for part of the trip again next year! :D

Also a necessity for next year is a Street Fighter 2 turbo: hyper fighting machine so that I can go a few dozen rounds against dreamtr in it.
To that end I oughta put in some time playing with Detroit's resident SF2 masters...

But this time, by myself.

Just get me another job like the one I had this year. Recruiting and helping to choose a spokesmodel for the auction was simply hell! Oh the pain! The pain!

Schedule it on July 20th, since then I'll be guaranteed to get a ton of birthday presents. ;)

This year I wanted to go again, decided it was impractical again, and whined incessantly about it again. After reading John's 'thank you' post I came away with two thoughts:
1) I need to force myself to start saving NOW so I can afford to go next year.
2) Holy Cow!!! If John can post something that well written and grammatically correct just days after running CGE, AND while he's to use his own words "half-drunk", I can't begin to imagine the prose he'd produce if he posted on a regular basis, sober!
I still think commercial air travel is one of the most miserable experiences a person can endure, but the show definitely sounds worth the pain.

Didn't quite work for me this year as the Sunday was on my birthday :p
Still having it the weekend before Comicon or the second weekend of August (that it used to be) would suit me fine :)

Also, make sure (just like there is EVERY year) that there's a Warlords cab set up for free play... Garrett needs the practice... and if anyone's wondering about that, I'll be posting the video pretty soon. ^_^

If it helps, I've already convinced a friend in cali that he and his wife need to hit CGE 2008, on the basis of the classic arcade cabs alone :P

It wold be nice to have it on the east coast one of these days. Like maybe Boston or Providence.

I wonder if Atlantic City has ever been discussed? No matter where it's at I'll be back. :)

I wonder if Atlantic City has ever been discussed?
While Atlantic City would be nice for me too, there are a couple of reasons why it probably wouldn't be considered:
1) Cost: Unlike Las Vegas, there aren't any inexpensive hotels that provide convention areas. All of the resorts along the boardwalk are expensive. Anything off the boardwalk is probably dangerous.
2) Accesibility: AC is 1 hour from Philadelphia and two hours from Newark International airport. Its own airport is more of a regional airport (although it is called an International airport) however direct flights to it would be at a minimum. I don't believe the shuttle system from the airport to the boardwalk is anywhere as sophisticated as the one in Las Vegas
Anyway, if Ed could take VGXPO and emulate Phillyclassic's success, instead of trying to create a new E3, then we already have a CGE-type convention on the East Coast.

We need a CGE type convention somewhere on the east coast. I think it would work the best in a City like Nashville, Atlanta, or maybe somewhere in Ohio so it would be driveable for anyone on the east. Maybe it will happen at some point soon ;)
Also a Florida location might not be terrible either. Orlando has a ton of cheap hotels, lots of activities to do, good shuttles, but I am not sure about convention halls.

We already have Cinciclassic in Ohio. One major problem about having a CGE-type convention on the East Coast is that much of the alumni is on the WEST coast.
