The Nintendo Power tapes? I used to have a few, I remember I had one for the Nintendo 64, a Star Fox 64 one (Maybe they were both the same tape), then an older one advertising the Super Nintendo. I believe the games on the SNES tape were Yoshi's Island, Killer Instinct and some other games but I'm not 100% sure. Anywho anyone else remeber these VHS tapes? Also I'd be very interested in buying these tapes as well. If anyone is selling them send me a PM.

I'm pretty sure I had a tape that showed off Yoshi's island exclusively, and another for donkey kong 64? Pretty interesting tapes they were. :)

I remember that I was super excited when I got the Street Fighter 2 Turbo CE video in the mail. It just came by surprise one day, probably due to filling out some sort of registration card or whatever. I felt like I had won the lotto getting a videotape of one of my favorite series for free and without warning.

There were also tapes for Donkey Kong Country and Jet Force Gemini I believe.

I wasn't aware of them at the time that they were actually being released. However, I do own a few now, like for Zelda: Majora's Mask and Banjo Kazooie. Whenever I go to Goodwill looking for video games (which usually turns up nothing), I make my trip worthwhile by looking through all the other cool old stuff there. I especially like to collect VHS tapes of cartoon series I watched as a kid (for me, it's a nostalgic hobby similar to my video game collecting; anyone else do this?)... so while I'm looking for these I also pick up these Nintendo advertisements if I ever see them. But I haven't found many... I've gone to Goodwill weekly for the past couple years and probably only have 3 or so. Unfortunately, like most of the tapes and games I own, I still haven't got around to using these.

I still have the Pokemon tape. I used to have alot of them, but I tossed/gave away most of them before I started collecting. I only kept the pokemon tape back then because the packaging mentioned the cartoon starting nationwide on my birthday.

I have the Nintendo 64 one, with the "best gamers in the country" giving it a test drive. It's not as cheesy as the others (thankfully) and is still pretty fun to watch.

Yeah, this topic comes up from time to time. I sort of "collect" the tapes, as do a few others around here. They are pretty darn cool. They really showcase Nintendo's 1990's corniness at its best (or worst). The Star Fox 64 tape is one of my favorites. They really went all out with that one. I was fortunate enough to receive a few of them in the mail back when they were brand new (probably because of my Nintendo Power subscription), but I've picked up some other ones over the years in thrift stores and such. It still kinda wonder how they determined the mailing lists for them because it seemed completely random which ones I received from Nintendo and which ones I didn't.
I got spares of Donkey Kong Country and "Hot Newz 64" (which features Donkey Kong 64 and Jet Force Gemini) if you're interested, but I won't have access to them until the end of August so it would be a bit of a wait.

They made a video about the Rumble Pak other than the Star Fox 64 tape? What's that one about?

Hmmm, that's odd. I don't have it at hand, but I could swear that my Star Fox 64 tape has different packaging.

My favorite one is the Star fox 64 video, the one with the person that parachutes down from the sky I believe. Then it goes on about being four-players and able to use the rumble pak.

I was sent Banjo Kazooie and NFL Blitz in the mail, although I never subscribed to Nintendo Power. I think it was from registering a game. Anyhow, the tapes were sent without packaging, so they were all beat up. I eventually threw them away.
