How do you open Famicom cartridges?

The screw holes are under the front label and the only way to get the label off is to heat it with a blow dryer then carefully peel it off. Do this at your own risk.

This is true. If I remember correctly (and I'm pretty certain that I do), Nintendo placed 1,000 spider eggs in each Famicom cartridge that instantly hatch when the innards are exposed to light (Pirate carts typically omit this detail).

Most Famicom cartridges I've opened don't have screws, instead they're held together by tabs along the edges. Be warned, they're not always in the same place ans there's not always the same amount. A thin yet strong blade in the crack between the two halves and a bit of prying should get you started - but don't force anything.
