I hope this computer topic is okay for this board. I was curious as to people's opinions of some of the more recent CRPG's. I 'm currently playing Wiz8 -which is really cool. Seeking advice on my next title. I've played about 30 minutes each of NWN and Morrowind -1st impressions were clunky controls and too much freedom on Morrowind; and something unappealing about the graphics/play on NWN. Am I wrong? Please add your 2(or more) cents. thanks

"Too much freedom" quickly becomes "liberating" once you get the hang of things and start advancing the main storyline somewhat. Same thing with the controls; once you get them down they're very intuitive.
Morrowind! Morrowind! Yay Morrowind!

Playing Asherons Call 2, and UT2K3 (not an rpg obviously) These are the only 2 computer games I've played in a few years more or less :)

"too much freedom"? yikes! anyway, try arx fatalis. it's cool, in a modernized old-school way. also, if you don't mind older-looking games, dig up a copy of battlespire (another game by bethesda). it's not as intimidating as morrowind, and there's a lot more action in it...

I cast my vote for Morrowind, period.

Geelw -yes, I forgot about Arx Fatalis that was a really good one. (great atmosphere) Also Divine Divinity was pretty cool. I guess what i meant about Morrowind was that I found it to be too open-ended. I'm finding Wiz8 to be the perfect blend of non-linear, yet focused and story driven. (not to mention totally stable and bug-less). Thanks for the battlespire tip-i'll look for it. I've also been tipped to Avernum/Geneforge by Spidersoft? or something like that.

Neverwinter Nights is the buggiest piece of beta ware crap to hit the PC since Daikatana and Pool of Radiance 2.
And I just wanted to say thanks to Bioware and their work on Neverwinter Nights. Since I never got a chance to on the Bioware boards as they banned me for complaining about numerous bugs in the game.
This game single-handedly drove me away from CRPGs and back to console gaming after years of playing PC games exclusively. I couldnt be happier now.
BTW I have a severely abused copy of NWN for trade or sale... :smash:
