Picked this lot up off the classifieds at work on Friday. I got lucky as someone else beat me to the punch in emailing the owner – but that person never paid, so a week later, I got the set. All told cost me $200 CDN, so I guess $220 or so US.
Not sure if it’s ‘worth it’ to some of the bargain hunters out there…but it was a good jump start to a 3DO collection and I MUCH prefer buying from the original owner and I can see the goods before handing over the cash. No shipping fees. No customs fees. No worry about having the console bashed around by a courier.
The console included all original documentation and was in the original box. Bought from the original owner who apparently took good care of his stuff…half of the discs don’t have a single scratch on them…and the ones that do are minor (and obviously bought used). Most of the games have all insterts (ads and stuff) and some even have their receipt! I mean – the Sewer Shark even still has the temporary tattoo!!! The console itself looks almost brand-new. If there’s one concern it’s that this system has seen hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of playtime.
This is the photo that he had in his classified ad:

I'm not a completionist collector...I generally just buy games that I want to play. So, I'll probably put some of these on the Buying and Selling forum at some point.
