Hello. I'm looking for import recommendations and advice for the Sega Saturn.
I prefer games that require little or no understanding of Japanese, since I don't speak the language and don't have the patience to muddle through mysterious dialogue boxes until something happens.
Genres I prefer include fighting games, shmups, shooters and platforming/action.
Games I already own for the system are as follows: Radiant Silvergun, Akumajou Dracula X, and Princess Crown.
Thanks in advance!
Oh yeah, before I forget... Can anyone tell me if Princess Crown was released for PSP in europe with an english or german translation? I'd really like to play it through and understand it....

For fighting, I enjoyed X-Men VS Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter and Asuka 120%
Shooters, Batsugun is a favorite of mine.

As far as Princess Crown goes, no, there's no localized version available - either the original source code was destroyed or something similar - the PSP version is simply emulation, which would make localization rather tricky and time consuming. There's a thread with a bit more info on GameFAQS.

Batsugun
and to a lesser degree:
Blast Wind
Hyper Dual
Cotton 2 and Cotton Boomerang
Guardian Force

Elevator Action Returns is terrific, just a little pricey for what you get.
Some others: Fighters History Dynamite, Tenchi wo Kurau II, Bubble Symphony, Astra Superstars, Mizubaku Daibouken, Silhouette Mirage, Prikura Daisakusen, Vampire Savior, and perhaps G-Vector.

Good list!
I'll add Kingdom Grandprix, Panzer Dragoon, PD Zwei (those two aren't necessarily imports, but very easy to find on the super cheap for J-Saturn), Parodius Deluxe Pack, Sexy Parodius, Keio Yuugekitai 2. The Arcade Gears series is intersting, but tends to be expensive. Image Fight/X-Multiply, Gun Frontier...

…Keio Yuugekitai 2…
So how do this game fare? I am LOVE Keio Flying Squadron on the Sega CD. Have never inquire of the sequal. I hear there are platform as well as shoot them up?

Always nice to see some love for FH Dynamite :)
I'd also recommend World Heroes Perfect, Metal Slug, SF Zero 3, GunBird is very underrated and quite cheap too, ditto Steamgear Mash and Willy Wombat. Keriotosse ain't shabby if you're looking for a Poy Poy clone. There's a review of Keri on my website.

@ 8ways2tuesday.... Dammit :bad-words: Thanks for the information, though.
I know that many of these games are available on Ebay and Amazon stores... Are they the only recourse, or is there a site with slightly less insane prices on older import games? (if not, well, you pay whats being asked, I suppose.)

If it has "Deluxe Pack" somewhere in the title, it's definitely worth the money.

Yeah, I recently got Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty. It's like a cross between Street Fighter II and Samurai Shodown.
