Why does this realy surprise anyone? An online game for game series that never finished? I've given up on ever seeing the end of Shenmue. We will never see a part 3, we will never see the end of the story, and I dont see where an online version would have ever got released.

honestly, I haven't been keeping up with the Shenmue scene, and I only recently saw that linked video. It just looks like it would be such a cool game—I love the cityscapes.
So no, I am not surprised it got cancelled, just disappointed
